atul's bollywood song a day- with full lyrics

Mere mehboob qayaamat hogi

Posted on: July 29, 2008

People who are normally happy and cheerful, sing great happy songs. But when they have occasions to feel sad, their sadness is genuinely painful. That may explanation why the sad songs sung by Kishore Kumar sound so poignant, and so full of pathos.

And when it comes to Kishore Kumar’s sad songs, the feeling of pain and sadness comes out so well in this particular song. The movie is long forgotten, but this song has assured that the name of the movie would always be remembered while discussing this song.

Anand Bakshi has excelled in writing the lyrics of the song. And Laxmikant Pyarelal’s spartan music ( sans heavy orchestra) enhances the mood of the song.

Song- Mere mehboob qayamat hogi (Mr X in Bombay) (1964) Singer-Kishore Kumar,Lyrics-Anand Bakshi,MD-Laxmikant Pyarelal

hmm
mere mehboob qayamat hogi
aaj rusva teri galiyon mein muhabbat hogi
meri nazrein to gila karti hain
tere dil ko bhi sanam tujhse shikaayat hogi
mere mehboob

teri gali main aata sanam
naghma wafa ka gaata sanam
tujhse suna na jaata sanam
phir aaj idhar aaya hoon magar
ye kehne main deewana
khatm bas aaj ye wehshat hogi
aaj rusva teri galiyon mein muhabbat hogi
mere mehboob

meri tarah tu aahen bhare
tu bhi kisise pyaar kare
aur rahe wo tujhse pare
toone O sanam dhaaye hain sitam
to ye tu bhool na jaana
ke na tujhpe bhi inaayat hogi
aaj rusva teri galiyon mein muhabbat hogi
mere mehboob qayaamat hogi
aaj rusva teri galiyon mein mohabbat hogi
meri nazrein to gila karti hain
tere dil ko bhi sanam tujhse shikaayat hogi
mere mehboob

Translation

My darling, it is going to be doomesday today
Today love will suffer humiliation in your presence
Even you heart will complain against you

I would have come to you and would have sung a song of faithfulness
which would have been unbearable for you to listen.
Instead I have come to you to say that this madness on my part will end today
Today love will be humiliated in your presence

You too may have to sigh,
you too may love someone, and may that person spurn you
You yourself have committed atrocities, so be prepared to be paid in the same coin,
you too may fail to receive any mercy

My darling, it is going to be doomesday today
Today love will suffer humiliation in your presence
Even you heart will complain against you

Atul, aaj ye gaana dekh aur sun ke dil bahut khush ho gaya.
This is definitely in my top-10 songs of Kishore.
I loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove this song.
There are 2 Kishore versions of it (and also a Lata version if I am not mistaken).

This is one song I can listen to – again and again and again.
The voice, the songs, the lyrics, the music – they all combine beautifully here.

Indeed, it is one of the more serious and as such, more mmemorable songs of Kishore Kumar.

I LOVE THIS SONG VERY MUCH A BECAUSE MY HUBBY DEDICATE THIS SONG TO ME..THAT’S WHY I LOVE THIS SONG .

This was the first time Kishore Kumar was singing for Laxmikant Pyarelal. And what a memorable song they come up with !
