What do I say about this song ? It was a big favourite of mine as well as that of others. But those days one could only listen what was played on radio and loudspeakers. So as a song stopped playing on these media, one tended to forget the song.
I have not listened to this song for nearly 40 years , honest ! It was only when I got to listen to this song again yesterday that I was once again reminded of the fact that this song was so hugely popular in those days.
But 1968-69 had a large number of wonderful songs and as a result so many nice songs jostled for space and many of them were elbowed out. This song was certainly one such song which deserved better fate than just being forgotten. But this tended to happen in those days.
If one researches the songs of 1968-69, I am sure we will come up with many such forgotten gems like this one. And I rediscovered this song thanks to the farmaish of Raja. Thanks, Raja.

The last para in this song should read ‘ lootaa tere gesu bikhranene.

Saw this on the first day this film was released, Sep 27, 1969.

Thanks for posting this one too, Atul.
Indeed such songs need to be unearthed and brought back into circulation. They are just so pleasant to listen to. Not too loud or even fast, not too slow, just right.
