atul's bollywood song a day- with full lyrics

Laga laga laga re laga prem rog

Posted on: November 2, 2008

I thought that they do not make songs like they made in Bollywood in 1970s. I was wrong. Here is a mast party song cum drunk song that transforms into a rain song. This song is of as recent vintage as 2005.

This is a song where the actress, viz Sushmita Sen has really given as uninhibited a performance while dancing as any actress in Bollywood history. She steals the show. Salman Khan gamely hangs on in this song. We have had many songs where the hero gets drunk and then insists on singing a song. Here it is the heroine who is “nashe mein tunn” and she insists on singing and dancing.

Alka Yagnik has sung this fast paced song with great poise and competence. I was not aware that she could sing a song like this. And the male voice ( Kamaal Khan- never heard of him) sounds so much like Salman Khan.

The picturisation of this song is mind boggling. I liked the fact that the makers of this song have resisted the temptation of making the actors change their clothes hundred times in the course of the song as normally happens these days. In the true traditions of Rajesh Khanna and Mumtaz, the leading duo sing this song wearing the same clothes throughout the song, even while getting wet in rain. And Sushmita Sen, much like Mumtaz did in such songs, wears orange coloured clothes all over.

It is a mast timepass song, just as good as any one can come across.

P S- The music in this movie called “Maine Pyar kyon Kiya” is by Himmesh Reshamiya. If he promises not to sing songs nasally then he may acquire some fans for his music, I am sure.

Song- laga laga laga re laga prem rog (Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya) ( 2005) Singers- Alka Yagnik, Kamaal Khan, Lyrics-Sameer, MD- Himesh Reshammiya

Lyrics

Chunari lehraayi, paayal chankaayi, choodi khankaayi
Liya bechaini ka jog
Laga laga laga re, laga laga laga re, laga laga laga re
Laga prem rog
Laga laga laga re, laga laga laga re, laga laga laga re
Laga prem rog

Tumse milkar dil ko mere
Tumse milkar dil ko mere jaane kya huwa re
Laga laga laga re, laga laga laga re, laga laga laga re
Laga prem rog
Laga laga laga re, laga laga laga re, laga laga laga re
Laga prem rog

Dil tha akela, akeli thi main
Ek anjaani paheli thi main
Kya huwa mujhko mujhe kya pata
Chaaron taraf hai nasha hi nasha

Hai juda hai juda aaj teri ada
Gumshuda gumshuda tu huwi gumshuda

Hai juda hai juda aaj teri ada
Gumshuda gumshuda tu huwi gumshuda

Liya bechaini ka jog
Laga laga laga , laga laga laga, laga laga laga re
Laga prem rog
Laga laga laga re, laga prem rog

Mujhpe yeh kaisa ghazab ho gaya
Haal jiya ka ajab ho gaya
Aawaargi se machalne lagi
Na jaane kaisi pighalne lagi

Hai bada hai bada yeh deewana sama
Behke armaan dhadkan bhi jawaan

Hai bada hai bada yeh deewana sama
Behke armaan dhadkan bhi jawaan

Liya bechaini ka jog
Laga laga laga re, laga laga laga re, laga laga laga re
Laga prem rog
Laga laga laga re, laga laga laga re, laga laga laga re
Laga prem rog

Chunari lehraayi, paayal chankaayi, choodi khankaayi
Liya bechaini ka jog
Laga laga laga, laga laga laga, laga laga laga re
Laga prem rog
Laga laga laga re, laga prem rog

Laga laga laga, laga laga laga
Laga laga laga, laga laga laga
Laga laga laga

Wow! Sushmita looks awesome.. much better in this compared to what she looks now. I had heard the song before but never seen picturization. Thanks for putting this up.

Is it just a coincidence that the first rains of the seasons just came this weekend and you’ve posted a rain song? :)

I like to be topical, but that is about festivals etc. I post songs which I like at that particular moment. So songs depend on my choice ( and also on the choice of my readers viz their “farmaish”).

This is my favorite song. I often wish if I could dance with Sush in a rainy day! laga laga laga re prem rog!
