atul's bollywood song a day- with full lyrics

Kahaan se laayi ho jaaneman

Posted on: December 9, 2008

Has anyone heard of this movie called “Dil Aur Mohabbat” ? I had not. But when I started digging, I found that it was a movie released in 1968 where Joy Mukherjee and Sharmila Tagore had played the main roles.

The movie had obviously flopped, and was soon forgotten.

I found out that O P Nayyar was the music director and its songs were sung by Asha Bhonsle and Mahendra Kapoor.

When I began to listen to the songs, I sat up and began to take notice. What songs this movie had. Wonderful !

It is my duty to bring these songs to the notice of Bollywood music lovers.

This particular song “kahan se laayi ho jaaneman” sung by Mahendra Kapoor ( with a bit of humming by Asha Bhonsle) is such a gem. I loved it from the very first time I listened to it.

The song is picturised on Joy Mukherjee and Sharmila Tagore clad in bikini and relaxing in a boat. That makes it a boat song as well, in addition to being a romantic song.

It is a very sweet song to listen to, and I thank my stars that I accidentally stumbled into it, and thus discovered it.

Song-Kahan se laayi ho jaaneman (Dil aur Mohabbat) (1968) Singer-Mahendra Kapoor,Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-Shamsul Huda Bihari, MD-O P Nayyar

Lyrics

kahan se layi ho jaaneman ye
kitabi chehra gulaabi aankhen
kahan se layi ho jaaneman ye
kitabi chehra gulaabi aankhen
kabhi bhi jinka nasha na utre
ye hi to hai wo sharaabi aankhen
kahan se layi ho jaaneman ye
kitaabi chehra gulaabi aankhen
kabhi bhi jinka nasha na utre
ye hi to hai wo sharaabi aankhen
kahan se layi ho jaaneman

ye hi wo aankhen hain jinke moti
chamak rahe hai samandaron me
ahahaha
yahi wo chehra hai poojte hai
yahi wo chehra hai poojte hai
jise pujaari bhi mandiron me
hmmm

chaman me karti hai roz shabnam
kali kali se tumhari baaten
kabhi bhi jinka nasha na utre
ye hi to hai wo sharaabi aankhen
kahan se laayi ho jaaneman

nazar ye kahti hain tumse milkar
kabhi na tumse nazar hataaun
ahaha
tumhaari soorat hi saamne ho
tumhaari soorat hi saamne ho
tumhi ko bas dekhta hi jaaun
hmm
yoonhi guzaarun main zindagi ke
tamam din aur tamaam raten
kabhi bhi jinka nasha na utre
ye hi to hai wo sharaabi aankhen
kahan se laayi ho jaaneman ye
kitabi chehra gulaabi aankhen
kabhi bhi jinka nasha na utre
ye hi to hai wo sharaabi aankhen
kahan se laayi ho jaaneman

Had vaguely heard of this movie and this song.
Good song.
Was during the time when OP had a rift with Rafi saab and got MK to sing for him.
OP was not at all impressed by MK, though he has got a few hit songs from him, notably in Baharen Phir Bhi Aayengi and Kismat.

This song is now on http://www.youtube.com, you can watch it there. There are a few more that MK had sung for Op Nayyer.

Kamar Patli, nazar Bijlee,
Lakhon hai yahan dilwale,
Ankhon mein qayamat ke badal.

All major hits.

how do i download the above songs

I have seen this moviein 1970. This particular song was considered to be very bold at that time. Before the report of Khosla Samiti. Compare with Love aaj aur kal ( Saif and Deepika)

I have been looking for this song for several years, as I mistakenly thought it was sung by Rafi. I am very happy to find it on several websites now, including on Youtube. MK did a great job with a melodious voice. Definitely its a hidden jewel. Thanks for the script.

Forgot entirely about this. Thanks for putting it back in circulation.Video is not available anymore though.
