atul's bollywood song a day- with full lyrics

Bachna zaraa ye zamaanaa hai buraa

Posted on: December 5, 2009

Here is yet another song that I heard for the first time only just now. And I loved the song immediately.

This song is from “Milaap” (1955) in which Dev Anand, Geeta Bali, Johny Walker, Kumkum and K N Singh were the main actors.

This song is an “aankh michauli” (hide and seek) song in the sense that several persons including Johny Walker and Geeta Dutt are playing “aankh michauli” in this song. Now in real “aankh michauli” , one would rather keep silent, but this being a Bollywood movie, they feel obliged to sing. So here is this song which is sung by Geeta Dutt and Rafi. The song is lip synced by Geeta Bali and Johny Walker on screen.

Sahir Ludhianvi is the lyricist and N Datta composed the music.

I found this song a very hummable song and I am likely to feel that way about this song for the rest of the day. So here is this nice and lovely song which I discovered only just now.

Song- Bachna zaraa ye zamaana hai buraa (Milaap) (1955) Singers-Geeta Dutt, Rafi, Lyrics-Sahir Ludhianvi, MD-N Datta

Lyrics

oho
aho
uhu
yippi

bachnaa zaraa ye zamaanaa hai buraa
bachnaa zaraa ye zamaanaa hai buraa
kabhi meri gali mein na aanaa
kabhi meri gali mein na aanaa
bachnaa zaraa ye zamaanaa hai buraa
kabhi meri gali mein na aanaa
kabhi meri gali mein na aanaa
bachnaa zaraa

meri gali mein aane waale
ho jaate hain gham ke hawaale
hmm hmm hmm hmm
hmm hmm hmm hmm
in raahon se jo bhi guzre
soch samajh kar dil ko uchhaale
hmm hmm hmm hmm
hmm hmm hmm hmm
meri gali mein aane waale
ho jaate hain gham ke hawaale
in raahon se jo bhi guzre
soch samajh kar dil ko uchhaale
bade bade dil yahaan bane hain nishaanaa
bachnaa zaraa ye zamaanaa hai buraa
kabhi meri gali mein na aanaa
kabhi meri gali mein na aanaa
bachnaa zaraa

chupke chupke nain ladaanaa
nain ladaa kar dil ko lubhaanaa
hmm hmm hmm hmm
hmm hmm hmm hmm
dil ko lubhaa kar paas bulaanaa
paas bulaakar khud ghabraanaa
hmm hmm hmm hmm
hmm hmm hmm hmm
ho teraa jawaab hi nahin waah
khud ghabraakar aankh churaana
aankh churaakar dil ko jalaana
dil ko jalaakar hosh bhulaanaa
hosh bhulaakar arre majnu banaanaa
in lailaaon kaa hai khel puraanaa
bachnaa zaraa ye zamaanaa hai buraa
kabhi meri gali mein na aanaa
kabhi meri gali mein na aanaa
aahahaha
bachnaa zaraa ye zamaanaa hai buraa
kabhi meri gali mein na aanaa
kabhi meri gali mein na aanaa
bachnaa zaraa
hahaha

shokhi samjhen sharm-o-hayaa ko
daawat samjhen naaz adaa ko
hmm hmm hmm hmm
hmm hmm hmm hmm
in deewaanoo ka kyaa kahnaa
aap bulaayen apni kazaa ko
hmm hmm hmm hmm
hmm hmm hmm hmm
shokhi samjhen sharm-o-hayaa ko
daawat samjhen naaz adaa ko
in deewaanoo ka kyaa kahnaa
aap bulaayen apni kazaa ko
aur phir maange hamse harzaanaa
arre bachnaa zaraa ye zamaanaa hai buraa
kabhi meri gali mein na aanaa
kabhi meri gali mein na aanaa
bachnaa zaraa ye zamaanaa hai buraa
kabhi meri gali mein na aanaa
kabhi meri gali mein na aanaa
bachnaa zaraa ye zamaanaa hai buraa
kabhi meri gali mein na aanaa
kabhi meri gali mein na aanaa
bachnaa zaraa ye zamaanaa hai buraa
kabhi meri gali mein na aanaa
kabhi meri gali mein na aanaa
bachnaa zaraa ye zamaanaa hai buraa
kabhi meri gali mein na aanaa
kabhi meri gali mein na aanaa
bachnaa zaraa

This is quite a nice film, and has the distinction of being Raj Khosla’s first as a director (he wrote the screenplay too). When I met Aamir Khan in India, he thought CID was Khosla’s first film and I was positively gleeful to be able to correct him! ;-)

What about “Aankhen” (1950), then ? Was that not directed by Raj Khosla ?

No, that was directed by Devendra Goel…

Oh, All these days I was confused between the two names.
