I have posted a few songs from “Shrimatiji” (1952). The music of this song sounds far far ahead of its time. This movie had songs of several genres that were non-existent/ un heard of those days.

“Mughal e Azam” (1960) was a mega block buster in all respects, be it the movie, or its music. There were several songs in this movie and almost all of them have gone on to become evergreen iconic songs.

Geeta Dutt had originally sung this bhajan (“Rakh na ramakda”) in Gujrati movie “Mangal Phera” (1949) for music director Avinash Vyas and that has gone on to become an evergreen bhajan in Gujarati.
