Nain milaakar chain churaanaaa kiskaa hai ye kaam

Posted on: May 6, 2010

I recall listening to this song in my younger days. But as was the case with me for most songs, the only thing I knew about this song was what I heard, and no more. In other words, my knowledge of this song was confined to the fact that the song was sung by Rafi. Yes, I could identify Rafi’s voice even then. But I was not aware that songs had lyricists and music directors too. I used to think that the singer did everything !

Now, more than four decades later, I have finally become more informed on this song. This song is from a movie called “Aamne Saamne” (1967). The song is written by Anand Bakshi and music is composed by Kalyanji Anandji. The song is picturised on Shashi Kapoor and Sharmila Tagore. Shashi Kapoor ! Hmm ! Now I know why I had never heard of this movie before.

Song-Nain milakar chain churaanaa kiskaa hai ye kaam (Aamne Saamne) (1967) Singer- Rafi, Lyrics-Anand Bakshi, MD-Kalyanji Anandji

Lyrics

nain milaakar chain churaanaa kiskaa hai ye kaam
nain milaakar chain churaanaa kiskaa hai ye kaam
hamse poochho hamko pataa hai us zaalim kaa naam
hamse poochho hamko pataa hai us zaalim kaa naam
nain milaakar chain churaanaa kiskaa hai ye kaam
hamse poochho hamko pataa hai us zaalim kaa naam

wo aayaa to kho gayi ye saari mehfil
wo aayaa to kho gayi ye saari mehfil
dekhaa iss andaaz se sab kho baithe dil
thodaa saa wo meharbaan thodaa saa qaatil
thodaa saa wo meharbaan thodaa saa qaatil
wo jiski har ek adaa par laakhon hain ilzaam
wo jiski har ek adaa par laakhon hain ilzaam
hamse poochho hamko pataa hai us zaalim kaa naam
nain milaakar chain churaanaa kiskaa hai ye kaam
arre hamse poochho hamko pataa hai us zaalim kaa naam

kiskaa gussaa hai bhalaa jispe aaye pyaar
kiskaa gussaa hai bhalaa jispe aaye pyaar
aisaa dushman haay re jisko samjhe yaar
socho to wo kaun hai sharmeelaa dildaar
socho to wo kaun hai sharmeelaa dildaar
jiski mast nasheeli nazren aisi jaise jaam
jiski mast nasheeli nazren aisi jaise jaam
hamse poochho hamko pataa hai us zaalim kaa naam
nain milaakar chain churaanaa kiskaa hai ye kaam
hamse poochho hamko pataa hai us zaalim kaa naam

jaagi-jaagi si zaraa kuchh soyi-soyi
jaagi-jaagi si zaraa kuchh soyi-soyi
aankhen bhi us shokh ki hain khoyi-khoyi
sholaa hai wo phool hai yaa sapnaa koyi
sholaa hai wo phool hai yaa sapnaa koyi
jiski khaatir koyi bhi ho saktaa hai badnaam
jiski khaatir koyi bhi ho saktaa hai badnaam
arre hamse poochho hamko pataa hai us zaalim kaa naam
nain milaakar chain churaanaa kiskaa hai ye kaam
hamse poochho hamko pataa hai us zaalim kaa naam

This was a pretty popular song in its time. It is a catchy song, even if Shashi’s dancing is . :-)
I remember it was the first song for Antakshari for “N” (either this or “naina barse”). :-)
I knew even then that this was from Aamne Samne and that this was a murder mystery movie. I managed to see this movie only a few years ago. Expected an exciting movie, it turned out to be quite a disappointment.

You really don’t rate Shashi, Rajendra Kumar, Biswajeet, Jeetendra and Manoj Kumar, do you ? :-)

This movie had a good duet “kabhi raat din hum door they”. Am not sure this is posted. If not, it is worth posting IMO.

It is a pretty nondescript film as Raja says, but this song is FAB :) I love Shashi’s dancing, LOL!!!
