Dil tera deewaanaa hai sanam

Posted on: May 30, 2010

Rafi-Shammi Kapoor songs are some of the most loved songs in Bollywood movies. Sometime ago, I had wondered what I was going to do if I run out of these Rafi-Shammi Kapoor songs to post. Well, I have posted over 2500 songs in this blog, and I find that I still have many Rafi-Shammi Kapoor songs not yet posted. So I still have lots of ground to cover.

I have posted one song from “Dil Tera Deewaana” (1962) in the past. But what is one song in movies that teem with several fine songs ! Here is another song from this movie. It is sung by Rafi and Lata and picturised on Shammi Kapoor and Mala Sinha. It is a rain song. I must say that it is perhaps the first time I have seen Shammi Kapoor in a rain song.

I have commented about the kind of energy that Rafi is able to bring to his voice while sionging for Shammi Kapoor, and this song is no exception. It is such a high watt energetic singing from Rafi that this energy could be felt by the listeners even today, after the passage of nearly half a century.

Shammi Kapoor is his usual ebullient self, and Mala Sinha too keeps pace with him.

Shailendra is the lricist and music is composed by Shankar Jaikishan.

Considering thagt the movie is called “Dil Tera Deewaanaa” (1962) and the words appear in the song too, this dsong is the title song of the movie as well.

Listening to this song can cheer one up no end. This song will certainly lift one’s mood.

Song-Dil tera deewaanaa hai sanam (Dil Tera Sanam) (1962) Singers-Rafi,Lata, Lyrics-Shailendra,MD-Shankar Jaikishan

Lyrics

bijli giraa ke aap khud bijli se dar gaye
ham saadgi pe aapki lillaah mar gaye
haay haay haay

dil teraa deewaanaa hai sanam
dil teraa deewaanaa hai sanam
jaante ho tum
kuchh naa kahenge ham
jaante ho tum
kuchh naa kahenge ham
muhabbat ki qasam
muhabbat ki qasam
muhabbat ki qasam
muhabbat ki qasam
ho dil teraa deewaanaa hai sanam
dil teraa deewaanaa hai sanam
jaante ho tum
kuchh naa kahenge ham
jaante ho tum
kuchh naa kahenge ham
muhabbat ki qasam
muhabbat ki qasam
ho muhabbat ki qasam
muhabbat ki qasam

pyaar ke albele ye hamsafar
chal denge le jaayegaa dil jidhar
raah mein kho jaayenge aaj to
raah mein kho jaayenge aaj to haay
manzil kahaan hai hamen kyaa khabar
kuchh chaahat kaa asar
kuchh mausam kaa asar
ho dil teraa deewaanaa hai sanam
dil teraa deewaanaa hai sanam
jaante ho tum
kuchh naa kahenge ham
ho jaante ho tum
kuchh naa kahenge ham
muhabbat ki qasam
muhabbat ki qasam
muhabbat ki qasam
muhabbat ki qasam

teri aankhon mein jo suroor hai
saaraa isi kaa to qusoor hai
sainyyaa anjaani nagri pyaar ki
sainyyaa anjaani nagri pyaar ki
naadaan ye dil meraa majboor hai
jeewan mein ek baar
khud ho jaataa hai pyaar
dil teraa deewaanaa hai sanam
dil teraa deewaanaa hai sanam
jaante ho tum
kuchh naa kahenge ham
ho jaante ho tum
kuchh naa kahenge ham
muhabbat ki qasam
muhabbat ki qasam

kyaa keeje koyi man bhaa gayaa
dil mein hamaare wo samaa gayaa
hans ke kisi ne dekhaa ek baar
hans ke kisi ne dekhaa ek baar haay
dil ki muraaden koyi paa gayaa
saanson mein meethi aag
honthon pe meethaa raag
dil teraa deewaanaa hai sanam
ho dil teraa deewaanaa hai sanam
jaante ho tum kuchh naa kahenge ham
jaante ho tum kuchh naa kahenge ham
muhabbat ki qasam
muhabbat ki qasam
muhabbat ki qasam
muhabbat ki qasam
muhabbat ki qasam
muhabbat ki qasam
ho muhabbat ki qasam
muhabbat ki qasam

Nice song full of energy.
Plenty of Shammi-Rafi songs still out there – I see you have not even posted “sar pe topi lal” from Tumsa Nahin Dekha. So there is a long way to go. Which is a good thing. :-)

Indeed it is good to know that I am still way off the target of posting all Rafi-Shammi Kapoor songs. Incidentally now I have thought of this tag Rafi-Shammi Kapoor song which should be useful in finding such songs.

A great song!
I wonder at times, if these songs would have been if Shammi hadn’t arrived on the scene!

If Shammi Kapoor had not arrived then obviously we would not have all these Shammi Kapoor and quasi shammi Kapoor movies of 1960s.

thanks atul yeh gana mera fav hai aur shammi ji and mala sinha ji ka kya kehna.really romantic song hai ……

I was searching for a Fast Romantic Barsat Song for my stage Show of Rafisab & This is a ultimate Song.
