Ye khaamoshiyaan ye tanhaayiyaan

Posted on: July 22, 2010

Here is a song whose farmaish was given by Raja more than a year back. And as often happens with me, I may have listened to this song in passing in the past, but it is only now that I have seriously listened to this song.

This song is from “Ye Raaste Hain Pyaar ke”. It is a duet which is sung by Rafi and Asha Bhonsle. Rajinder Krishan is the lyricist and Ravi is the music drector.

The song is a “snowy mountain” song. Yes, I have thought up of this category only just now, though I have posted many songs like this which were picturised on snowy mountains.

The song is picturised on Sunil Dutt and Leela Naidu. Now, I have seen pictures of Leela Naidu as an old lady and read about the fact that she was regarded as one of the most beautiful ladies in the world in her youth, but it is only just now that I have seen how she looked like in her youth. I thought all these days that she must be having an appearance somewhat like Aishwarya Rai, but I find that she looked somewhat like Vidya Balan. And I also wonder why she did not get too many Bollywood movies after this movie.

Song-Ye khaamoshiyaan ye tanhaayiyaan (Ye Raaste Hai PYaar Ke) (1963) Singers-Rafi, Asha Bhonsle,Lyrics-Rajinder Krishan, MD-Ravi

Lyrics

ye khaamoshiyaan ye tanhaaiyaan
muhabbat ki duniyaa hai kitni jawaan
haay
ye khaamoshiyaan ye tanhaaiyaan
muhabbat ki duniyaa hai kitni jawaan
ye khaamoshiyaan ye tanhaaiyaan

aaaa aaaa aaaa aa haa
o ho ho
aa haa
aa aa aa aa aa aa
aa haa haa
o ho
o ho ho ho ho ho
ye sardi kaa mausam
badan kaanpe thar thar
ye sardi kaa mausam
badan kaanpe thar thar
ye hain barf ke dher yaa sangemarmar
banaa len na kyun apni jannat yahaan
ye khaamoshiyaan ye tanhaaiyaan
muhabbat ki duniyaa hai kitni jawaan
ye khaamoshiyaan ye tanhaaiyaan

ye oonche pahaadon ke maghroor saaye
ye kahte hain unko nazar to milaaye
ye kahte hain unko nazar to milaaye
farishte bhi hain is jagah bezubaan
ye khaamoshiyaan ye tanhaayiyaan
muhabbat ki duniyaa hai kitni jawaan
ye khaamoshiyaan ye tanhaaiyaan

na pardaa hai koyi
na hai koyi chilman
jahaan paanv rakh den
hai phislan hi phislan
ho o
jahaan paanv rakh den
hai phislan hi phislan
qadam chhodte jaa rahe hain nishaan
ye khaamoshiyaan ye tanhaaiyaan
muhabbat ki duniyaa hai kitni jawaan
ye khaamoshiyaan ye tanhaaiyaan

aaa aaa aa aaa
aaa aaa aaa aaa oho
aaa aaa aaa aaa

awesome song kiya baat hai rafi ji ki aur lata ji ki thanks very much atul…

It is Asha Bhonsle, not Lata.

atul thanks for posting this beautiful song
all these I have only heard this song mainly in vividh bharathi chayageet. now only seeing the video. great!! thanks again

Thanks for posting this long outstanding farmaish of mine, Atul.
I love this song. There is something very pleasant about it. There was a time when I would listen to this every day – and multiple times a day. It was that type of song for me. :-)

Yes, I love the song too. It is no 2 in my Sunil Dutt playlist and I listen to it almost daily. Leela Naidu looks French (and it’s no wonder since her mother was French). Sunil Dutt had some great songs — the Mera Saaya songs, for instance, are exquisite.

Sophy, I might be mistaken, but I guess her mother was Irish, not French. And yes, Sunil Dutt is a great playlist to listen to, he had some amazing songs picturised on him.
