Aap yoon faaslon se guzarte rahe

Posted on: April 14, 2011

“Shankar Hussain” (1976) is a movie which has been forgotten with time though it is just over three decades old and is therefore of recent vintage by th standard of this blog. I recall that one of its songs became quite popular and in fact this song is regarded as a classic now. I am talking about the song Kahin ek maasoom naazuk si ladki which is a fantastic song sung by Rafi.

This movie also has a superb Lata song in it. I have heard this song before, but at that time I was not aware that this song was from this movie. For that matter I did not even pay much attention to this song. when nah sent me the lyrics of this song, then it was only then that I came to know that this song was from “Shankar Hussain” (1976).

This song is written by Jaan Nisaar Akhtar and music is composed by Khayyam.

Listen to this song. What a melodious song ! They no longer make songs like this.

This song is picturised on an actress called Madhu Chanda. I hope I have identified her correctly. The actor who figures in the picturisation alongwith her is a very young Kanwaljeet Singh.

Song-Aap yoon faaslon se guzarne lage (Shankar Hussain) (1976) Singer-Lata,Lyrics-Jaan Nisaar Akhtar,MD-Khayyam

Lyrics (Provided by nahm)

ho ho ho
hmm hmm hmm hmm

aap yoon faaslon se guzarte rahe
aap yoon faaslon se guzarte rahe
dil pe qadmon ki awaaz aati rahi
aahaton ke andhere chamakte rahe
raat aati rahi raat jaati rahi
aap yoon

ho
hmm hmm
gungunaati rahi meri tanhaayiyaan
door bajti rahin kitni shehnaayiyaan
door bajti rahin kitni shehnaayiyaan
zindagi zindagi ko bulaati rahi
aap yun Faaslon se guzarte rahe
dil pe qadmon ki awaaz aati rahi
aap yoon

qatra qatra pighalta raha aasman
qatra qatra pighalta raha aasman
rooh ki wadiyon mein na jaane kahan
ek nadi
ek nadi dilruba geet gaati rahi
aap yoon faaslon se guzarte rahe
dil pe qadmon ki awaaz aati rahi
aap yoon

aapki garam baanhon mein kho jaayenge
aapke narm shaanon pe so jaayenge
so jaayenge
muddatton raat neenden churaati rahi
aap yoon faaslon se guzarte rahe
dil pe qadmon ki awaaz aati rahi
aahaton ke andhere chamakte rahe
raat aati rahi raat jaati rahi
aap yoon
aap yoon
aap yoon
aap yoon
aap yoon

Atulji

Kanwaljeet is there in the movie, (but for rafi`s song:”Kahin ek masoom nazuk si ladki”) but the male actor in this particular song is SYUAIL.
The CD cover of this movie, spelt his name as SYUAIL.

This guy is not KANWALJEET(aka kanwaljeet singh who is there in Satte pe satta, Ashanthi etc)

A very beautiful composition from Khayyam saab !!! so great are the lyrics from Jan Nisar Akhtar saab !!!

As you traveled the distances
i could hear the footsteps in my heart
sounds in the dark kept illuminating
as night came and night went

my solitude’s kept humming
even as the music of celebration
played far away
my life calling your life to come (join me)
As you traveled the distances
i could hear the footsteps in my heart

The skies kept melting drop by drop
turning into a river of lilting song
reverberating in the recesses of my soul.
As you traveled the distances
i could hear the footsteps in my heart

I shall lose myself in the warmth
of your arms
go to sleep in the comfort of your shoulders
the night has denied me sleep for a long time
As you traveled the distances
i could hear the footsteps in my heart
sounds in the dark kept illuminating
as night came and night went

Thank you nahm jee for the translation
