“Hongkong”(1962) was a Paachhi productions movie. It was directed by Paachhi and the star cast of this movie included names like Ashok Kumar, B Saroja Devi, Om Prakash, K N Singh, Helen, Helen, Lily, Leo, Bhalla, Baburao, Kitty, King Kong, Kundan, etc.
As can be guaged from the names in the cast, there were a few foreigners too in the movie who were presumably from Hongkong.
Here is a club dance song from this movie. It is sung by Asha Bhonsle. The dancers, one female and one male, appear to be from Hongkong or thereabout. I am not sure of their identities. I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify them.
S H Bihari is the lyricist and O P Nayyar composed the music.
Today (28th january) is when O P Nayyar left this world, rather lonely and alone. This song is a tribute to the genius who had the guts and gumption to swim against the tide and still make it to the top in music direction in Hindi movies, which was no mean feat.
This song is a tribute from this blog to O P Nayyar on this occasion.
