“Chambal Ki Kasam” (1980) was a M P D Production movie. It was produced by V L Muralidhar and directed by Ram Maheshwari. The movie had Raj Kumar, Moushumi Chatterjee, Nirupa Roy, Farida jalal, Usha Kiran, Shatrughna Sinha, Ranjeet, Pradeep Kumar, Paintal, Amjad Khan, Jagdish Raj, Nazir Hussain, Uma Khosla, Bhagwan Dada, Ramayan Tiwari etc in it.
This movie, which depicted the lives of dacoits, had a few well known songs in it. One of these songs dealt with the feelings of a sister (played by Farida Jalal) who misses her brother (Raj Kumar, a dacoit) on the occasion of the festival of Raakhi and she sings this “missing the beloved brother” song where she asks the “chanda” (moon) to convey her message to her brother, tellling him that she is missing him.
The song is sung by Lata. The lyrics of this song are penned by Sahir Ludhianvi. Music is composed by Khaiyyam.

actually this was a farmaish by PrakashChandraji & myself last year itself when Raksha bandhan was approaching. then i think PC decided to speed up matters and sent u the lyrics himself. thats the reason its here today & so i also thank PCji. and atul i saw the vdo for the first tym today. it used to be famous on the air waves in my growing up years
