atul's bollywood song a day- with full lyrics

Tum bhi chalo ham bhi chalen

Posted on: August 4, 2012

Kishore Kumar was around in the Hindi movie playback scene for two decades from 1948 to 1968 but all these while he was on the fringes. But a combination of many circumstances, that are well chronicled, ensured that changes of epic proportions took place in the Hindi movies schemes of things in late 1960s. Whe the commotion was over and things settled down, the old order had changed giving way to the new. The old timers (heroes, singers, music directors) suddenly found themselves upstaged and evicted from the scene in the new order.

In the new order, Rajesh Khanna was the new acting sensation, Kishore Kumar was the new male playback singing sensastion, and R D Burman was the new music composing sensation.

A few years later, Rajesh Khanna’s era was over and he was replaced by Amitabh Bachchan at the top. But Kishore Kumar remained the dominant male playback singer and R D Burman continued to be the biggest name in music direction.

“Zameer” (1975) was a B R Productions movie. It was produced by B R Chopra and directed by Ravi Chopra. The movie had Amithabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna, Shammi Kapoor, Indrani Mukherjee, Saira Bano, Madan Puri, Jagadish Raj, Ramesh Deo, Prem Sagar, Minu Mumtaz, Chaand, Hari Shivdasani, Uma Dhawan, Rani, Sunil Dhawan, Keshav Rana,Janki Dass, Nazir Kashmiri, Raaj Kishore, Akbar etc in it. This was one of the earliest movies of Amitabh Bachchan during his emergence as the new superstar. Kishore Kumar, who had become the de facto playback singer for Rajesh Khanna became the defacto playback singer for Amitabh Bachchan too. And the songs that he sang for Amitabh Bachchan were different from those sung for Rajesh Khanna. and these songs were just as breathtaking to listen to.

Here is a song from “Zameer” (1975). This song in fact has two versions. The duet version is sung by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhonsle and it is picturised as a horse song on Amitabh Bachchan and saira Bano. Then there is a sadder Kishore Kumar solo version too which is picturised on Amitabh Bachchan, Shammi Kapoor, Saira Bano and Indrani Mukherjee.

On the occasion of Kishore Kumar’s birth anniversary (4 august), here is this wonderful song from “Zameer” (1975) which was quite popular those days and I found myself enthralled once again when I heard this song again.

Sahir Ludhianvi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Sapan Chakraborty.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Prakashchandra.

tum bhi chalo,
ham bhi chalen,
chalti rahe zindagi
naa zameen manzil,

zindagi hai zindagi
tum bhi chalo,

ham bhi chalen,

chalti rahe zindagi
lalala

peechhe dekhe na,
kabhi mud ke raahon mein,
ho
jhoome meraa dil,
tumhen leke baahon mein,
dhadkanon ki zubaan aan,
nit kaahe daastaan
pyaar ki jhil-mil chhaaon mein,
palti rahe zindagi
tum bhi chalo,
hmm
ham bhi chalen,
hmm
chalti rahe zindagi
naa zameen manzil,
na aasmaan,
zindagi hai zindagi
tum bhi chalo,
ham bhi chalen,
chalti rahe zindagi

behte chale ham,
masti ke dhaaron mein,
ho o
goonje yahi dhun,
sadaa dil ke taaron mein aen
ab ruke naa kahin
een
pyaar ka kaarwaan
nit nayi rut ke rang mein,
dhalti rahe zindagi

tum bhi chalo,
ham bhi chalen
chalti rahe zindagi

I want to know another fact whether music director
Sapan jagmohan/Swapan Jagmohan (music director of Begana-1963,
Abhi toh jee lein,Teri talash mein-1968,Chetna-1970,Insaf ka mandir-69, Do raha,Call Girl-1974, Kagaz ki Nao,Lal Kothi
and Sapan chakraborthy are different ???? or the same.

Sapan Chakravorthy also sang songs like title song of Golmal(amol palekar movie)and Angoor Song(Preetam aan milo picturised on Deven verma)
Please correct me If I am wrong.

Sapan Chakraborthy provided music for 36 Ghante(1974-Raj kumar,Mala Sinha, Sunil Dutt),Naya Nasha(Amit mallik & Nanda Starrer1973)Jab Andhera Hota hai(Vikram-Prema Narayan starrer-1974)
