atul's bollywood song a day- with full lyrics

Megha o megha tu to jaaye des bides

Posted on: August 16, 2012

“Sunayna” (1979) was a Rajshri Productions movie which was inspired from Charlie Chaplin’s movie The citylights(1931). Charlie Chaplin’s movie was a silent movie even though the era of talkies has begun. Hindi movies cannot be silent by any stretch of imagination. And this movie had some lovely songs in it,including Naseeruddin Shah (playing Charlie Chaplin’s role) singing a romantic song(Sunayna sunayna..aaj in nazaaron ko tum dekho) for his lady love.

The lady love of Naseeruddin Shah may be visually challenged, but she is vocally well endowed and she too sings lovely songs addressed to Naseeruddin Shah.

Here is one such song from “Sunayna” (1979). This “missing the beloved” genre of song is sung by Hemlata and it is picturised on Rameshwari. Ravindra Jain is the lyricist as well as the music director of this movie.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Prakashchandra.

In case regulars of this blog are wondering why a song of Hemlata is being discussed in this blog today, then the reason is- it is her birthday today (16 august). And so we wish Hemlata a very happy birthday on this occasion.

Lyrics(Provided by Prakashchandra)

meghaa
o re meghaa
tu toh jaaye
des bides
meghaa
o re meghaa
tu toh jaaye
des bides
kyun na laaye
unnke aawan kaa sandes
meghaaa
o re meghaa
tu toh jaaye
des bides

soorat sajan ki
andekhi
moorat woh kuchch kuchch
mann-dekhi
soorat sajan ki
andekhi
moorat woh kuchch kuchch
mann-dekhi
ke main iss se adhik
nahin kuchch jaanti
bas unnke
kadmon ki aahat ko
pehchaanti hoon
vaayu
o ree vaayu
tu toh dole des bides
kyun naa laaye
pee ke milan kaa sandes
meghaa
o re meghaa
tu toh jaaye
des bides

pee ke daras ko
nain miley
daras miley toh
chain mileyy
pee ke daras ko
nain miley
daras miley toh
chain miley
hai ab apnaa milan
bharose raam ke
sunayanaa pee ko
na dekhaa toh
nainaa kiss kaam ke
sajnaa
o re sajnaa
kith bhatake
des bides
kahaan bhejoon main
apne mann ka sandes
meghaa
o re meghaa
tu toh jaaye
des bides

Are sure? Or may be it has to do with the story line?
I do not know about this movie..but as per Prakashji, if this movie was copy from The city lights-1931, (which I have seen), as per the story the leading lady was a blind.

Wow, very nice voice of Hemlataji, actually her real name is “Lata”..
Happy b’day to Hemlataji.
