Rimjhim rimjhim rumjhum rumjhum

Posted on: August 16, 2012

While I was busy checking up the details of Saif ali Khan whose birthday falls today(16 august), I came across the information that today is the birthday of Manisha Koirala too. I as well as the regular contributors had missed out on her birthday. It turns out that she was born on 16 july 1970, exactly on the same day and year that Saif Ali Khan was born. Could they be identical twins separated at birth, Hindi movie istyle ? :) Not likely, because such separation at birth happens only in non royal families (viz. Pran and Nirupa Roy, for instance:) ). Here both Saif Ali Khan and Manisha Koirala happened to be born in royal families, silver spoon and all. :)

What to do ? I had also discussed as many as nine songs and where was the time to locate the lyrics of a song picturised on Manisha Koirala. It was then that I recalled that Manisha Koirala had figured in “1942 A love Story” (1993) and the lyrics of a few songs from this movie were sent to me in the past. Could it be so that I had not discusse one such contributions ? I searched and then managed to locate one undiscussed lyrics. And I heaved a sigh of relief because this song was indeed picturised on Manisha Koirala.

Here is this magical song fro “1942 A Love Story” (1993). The song is sung by Kumar Sanu and Kavita Krishmnamurty. The song is picturised on Anil Kapoor and Manisha Koirala. Javed Akhtar is the lyricist. Music is composed by R D Burman.

As mentioned earlier, the lyrics of this song were sent to me by Peevesie.

Rim jhim rim jhim

bheegi bheegi rut mein

bajta hai jaltarang
tin ki chhat pe jab
motiyon jaisa jal barse

boondon ki yeh jhadi
laayi hai woh ghadi
jiske liye hum tarse

tin ki chhat pe jab
motiyon jaisa jal barse

boondon ki yeh jhadi
laayi hai who ghadi
jiske liye hum tarse
aa ha ha ha ha ha
rim jhim rim jhim
rum jhum rum jhum
bheegi bheegi rut mein
tum hum hum tum

ho o

baadal ki chaadarein
odhen hain waadiyan
saari dishaayein soyi hain
sapnon ke gaaon mein
bheegi si chhaon mein
do aatmaayen khoyi hain

ohh baadal ki chadarein

Btw this is the last song of the movie. you can put it on the list of completed movies now :)

Is it so ? That is a relief. :)

ya but you have listed the music director as S D Burman there

Thanks for pointing out the mistake. I have rectified it now.

I wonder if you can get Lataji’s Bhajan (non-film): Barse Boondiya sawan ki, sawan ki, man bhaavan ki. I can’t seem to get the lyrics. Thanks.
