“Shehnaayi” (1964) was a New Oriental Pictures production. It was directed by S D Narang. The movie had Biswajeet, Rajshree, Johnny Walker, Veena, Chand Usmani, Nirupa Roy, Asit Sen, Iftekhar, Leela Chitnis, D. K. Sapru, Parveen Choudhary etc in it.

This song is sung by Rafi. The picturisation shows that Biswajeet, Johny Walker and a few ladies, including Rajshree are on a picnic on a beach of Bombay. It is interesting to note that the streets of Bombay were so so deserted those days with concrete jungles and other such man made monstrosities far less than what are visible today at the same locations.
This song is a case of one singer giving playback for two actors. Biswajeet and Johny Walker take turns lip sync in Rafi’s voice in this song.
Rajinder Krishan is the lyricist. Music is composed by Ravi.
The picturised song ends abruptly as Johny Walker stumbles upon his lady love during the singing and dance. The audio version of the song lasts longer by nearly half a minute.
