“Dooriyaan” (1981) was a Climb Pictures production. It was directed by Bhimsen. The movie had Uttam Kumar, Sharmila Tagore, Priyadarshini, Shriram Lagoo, Baby Geeta, Sudha Chopra, Sulbha Deshpande, Arvind Deshpande, Lalita Kohli, Nitin Sethi, Dutta Bhatt, Achyut Poddar, Kiran Seth etc in it.

This movie has four songs in it and two of them have been discussed in the past.

Today (3 september) is the birth anniversary of Uttam Kumar, the lead actor of this movie. Uttam Kumar (3 september 1926-24 july 1980) who made sporadic appearances in Hindi movies is one of the biggest legends of Bangla movies. Born as Arun Kumar Cahtterji, he made his debut in Bangla movies in 1948 and had a 32 year long career till his death in 1980. His pairing with Suchitra Sen in Bangla movies was a big hit with movie watchers. Together the duo worked in about 30 movies in two decades.

Uttam Kumar was the first ever winner of Government of India’s national award for the best actor in 1967.

Uttam Kumar worked in just over 200 movies. Out of them, nine were Hindi movies including Chhoti Si Mulaqaat (1967), Amanush,(1975), Anand Ashram(1977), Kitaab (1977)and Dooriyaan (1981).

On the occasion of Uttam Kumar’s birth anniversary, here is a song from “Dooriyaan” (1981). It is sung by Bhupinder Singh and Anuradha Paudwal and picturised on Uttam Kumar and Sharmila Tagore.

Sudarshan Fakir is the lyricist. Music is composed by Jaidev.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Khyati Bhatt.

Lyrics(Provided by Khyati Bhatt)

zindagi
zindagi
mere ghar aana
aana
zindagi
zindagi
mere ghar aana
aana
zindagi
zindagi
o o zindagi
mere ghar aana
aana
mere ghar aana

zindagi zindagi
mere ghar aana
aana
zindagi

zindagi
zindagi
mere ghar ka seedha sa
itna pata hai
ye ghar jo hai
chaaron taraf se khula hai
na dastak zaroori
na awaaz dena
mere ghar ka darwaaza
koi nahin hai
hai deewaaren gum
aur chhat bhi nahin hai
badee dhoop hai jo
kahin dhoop hai jo
tere aanchal ka saaya
churaake
jeena hai jeena
jeena zindagi
zindagi
ho o o
zindagi mere ghar aana

aana zindagi
zindagi
mere ghar aana

mere ghar ka seedha sa
itna pata hai
mere ghar ke aage
mohabbat likha hai
na dastak zaroori
na awaaz dena
main saanson ki raftaar
se jaan loongi
hawaaon ki khushboo
main pehchaan loongi
tera phool ho jo
teri dhool ho jto
tere haathon mein chehra
chhupaa ke jeena hai jeena
jeena zindagi
zindagi

ho o
zindagi mere ghar aana
aana zindagi
zindagi
mere ghar aana

Great choice.

I think both of them have best chemistry between them in on screen.

Through my FB friends I come to know that Uttam Kumar’s grandson Gaurav is also an actor in the Tollywood..
