atul's bollywood song a day- with full lyrics

Saathi tere naam ek din jeewan kar jaayenge

Posted on: September 16, 2012

Very little is known about music director Ram Laxman. Initially there were two of them, viz Ram Kadam and Vijay Patil who composed music as Ram Laxman. Ram Kadam died in 1976. But Vijay Patil continued to compose music as Ram Laxman. In fact, most well known movies with music by Ram Laxman came after 1976 when it was Vijay Patil alone composing music as Ram Laxman. Movies like “Maine Pyaar Kiya” (1989) and “Hum Aapke Hain Kaun”(1994) are the compositions of Ram Laxman.

Today (16 september) is Vijay Patil’s birthday. On this occasion, here is a well known Ram Laxman composition. It is from “Ustaadi Ustaad Se” (1982). This movie was an M G Movies production. It was produced by Gautam Bhatia and Mohan T Gehani and directed by Deepak Bahri. The movie had Vinod Mehra, Ranjeeta, Mithun Chakraborty, Jagdeep, Prema Narayan, Jayshree T, Padma Khanna, Madhu Malhotra, Bharat Kapoor, Yunus Parvez, Trilok Kapoor, Shetty, Bob Christo, Raj Tilak, Bhagwan, Mumtaz Begum, Master Bittu, Master Sonu, Baby Gazala, Birbal, Ratnamala etc in it.

The song under discussion has two versions. The all female version is sung by Asha Bhonsle and Usha Mangeshkar and it is picturised on Master Bittoo, Jagdeep, Baby Ghazala and Master Sonu (present day Sonu Nigam).

The other version is sung by Asha Bhonsle and Bhupinder Singh and it is picturised when the kids of the first version grow up and become Ranjeeta and Vinod Mehra.

Lyrics is written by someone called Dilip Tahir. I am aware of an actor called Dalip Tahil, but this name Dilip Tahir is new for me. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on the lyricist of this song.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Prakashchandra.

Atul ji,
RAM LAXMAN is just ONE person from the begining of film music.
Ram and Vijay Patil were doing stage shows in Bombay and Nagpur. In one of the shows,Dada Kondke, the famous Marathi producer/Director/Comedian saw this programme. He was so impressed that he immediately gave them his film ‘PANDU HAVALDAR’-1975 as Music Directors.
Unfortunately, just before the work started,Ram suddenly died. But Dada Kondke told Vijay Patil to do the music alone also and suggested to him that he takes the name as RAM-LAXMAN as a MD.
From the very first film,Ram-Laxman is just ONE person.
He gave his first music to Hindi film AGENT VINOD-1977.
Ram Laxman has given music to almost 50 films, many of them being from Rajashri Group.
After 1999,there has been no new film from him.

Further Dilip Tahir was a stray lyricist who had given lyrics for 100 Days-1991,with Ram Laxman’s music.

Thanks for the information.

Atul ji,
One more thing. The RAM who was with Vijay Patil was NOT Ram Kadam.Ram Kadam is a very wellknown and legendary Music director of Marathi, who gave music to more than 80 films,as late as 1993(Janmathep).
That Ram’s name was RAJARAM.

Thanks for the information. It just shows how much incorrect information is being propagated by the “reputed” site where this incorrect information is contained.

Raam Laxman movies after 1999 are:

Le Chal Apne Sang (2000)
Hum Pyar Tumhi Se Kar Baithe (2002)
Int Ka Jawab Patthar (2002)
Aisa Kyon (2003)

Dilip Tahir has written for 12-13 movies including Beta (1992), Aaja Meri Jaan (1993), etc. This may be his only noteworthy song though.

Thanks for additional info.

It seems he worked as a terrifically well-rounded musical genius.
I heard the name of these duo, must have heard some songs, but…keep forgetting their names.
Nice person deserved a great b’day!
