Mere pea ko pawan kis gali le chali
Posted on: October 3, 2012
Today (3 october) is the birthday of director J P Dutta (3 october 1949). His father O P Dutta too was a director during his time. J P Dutta is married to Bindiya Goswami, a well known actress of 1970s.
J P Dutta made his debut as a director with “Ghulami” (1985). This movie was a Nadiadwala Sons Prodction. It had Dharmendra, Smita Patil, Reena Roy, Naseeruddin Shah, Mithun Chakraborty, Anita Raj, Bharat Kapoor, Kulbhushan Kharbandha, Shammi Kapoor, Sulochana Latkar, Mazhar Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Raza Murad, Om Shivpuri,Surendra Pal, Avtar Gill, Mahendra Verma, Ram Mohan, Master Shaka, Dipika, Anjan Srivastav, Rajan Haksar, Huma Khan etc in it.
On the occasion of J P Dutta’s birthday, here is a song from “Ghulami” (1985). This song has two versions. Lata sings both the versions. Version I is picturised on Master Shaka and Dipika, who play the young versions of Dharmendra and Reena Roy, and true to the code of conduct for small kids playing the childhood roles of lead actors, they must be in love with each other even during their tender years.
Part II of the song is picturised on Dharmendra and Reena Roy of course.
Both versions are background songs. A steam locomotive hauled metre guage train is also visible in both the versions and that makes this song a rail song as well.
Gulzar is the lyricist and music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal.
Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Prakashchandra.

Thank you for the posting Atulji
I liked this movie very much. I recommend everyone to watch this movie.
Always in J.P.Dutta`s movies Desert locations play a pivotal role in the story.
Performances by Smita Patil,Naseeruddin Shah are noteworthy and the main attaction is Ishwar Bidri`s breath taking Cinematography. He captured the beauty of desert locations very beautifully supported by Amitab Bachchan`s Narration in the background and ably supported by the multi starcast.
On Big screen, I am very much impressed by the picturisation of this song, with stereophonic sound and superb camera angles.(Though Lata sounds screechy at some places)
Another additional 3rd stanza was also picturised, But I am unable to find the link for that. I do have a cassette in which the 3rd stanza of the song is available
Lyrics of another additional 3rd stanza(the link is not available)
zeher hai raat
har raat
par jeenaa hai
zeher hai raat
har raat
par jeenaa hai
ek vaade ki khairaat
par jeenaa hai..eee..eee
ek vaade ki khairaat
par jeenaa hai
mere honton pe thi
jo hansee le chalee
mere pee ko pawan
kiss gali le chalee
koyee roko meri
zindagi
le chalee
Atulji I hope you don`t mind me writing the lyrics of the 3rd addtional stanza here. Gulzarji lines are very well written.
Regards
Prakash
