“Babu” (1985) was a remake of a Tamil movie of 1971 of the same name which was in turn remake of a Malayalam movie of 1965 (called Odayil Ninnu).
“Babu” (1985) was produced by V R Parmeshwaram and directed by A G Trilokchandar. The movie had Rajesh Khanna, Hema Malini, Rati Agnihotri, Madan Puri, Rajendranath etc in it.
Though “Babu” (1985) came at an era when I had begun to lose track of Hindi movie songs, I recalled listening to the songs of “Babu” (1985) and liking them.
Here is a song from this movie. This song has two versions. The happy version shows Rajesh Khanna (playing a hand rickshaw puller) pulling a hand rickshaw thoughout the city of Calcutta with a young girl seated on the rickshaw. Rajesh Khanna, who was once treated well by the family of the girl was repaying for that by helping her and her by then widowed mother to survive and come up in life.
The sad version of the song takes place towards the end of the movie when that girl has grown up to become Rati Agnihotri and who has come up in life largely because of Rajesh Khanna.
This lovely song is sung by Kishore Kumar. Majrooh Sultanpuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Rajesh Roshan.

I think the voice Rati Agnihotri lip syncs to is that of Alka Yagnik.
