“Roop Ki Raani Choron Ka Raaja” (1961) was a Rahul Theatres Production. It was produced and directed by H S Rawail. The movie had Dev Anand, Waheeda Rehman, Jeevan, Sunder, Hira Lal, Randhir, Jagdish Raj, Rajindar Nath, Sahira, Sheela Kashmiri, Manorama, Indira Bansal, Gautam Mukerjee, Babu Rao Pehlwan, Soda Water, Prabhu Arora, Rirkoo, Jasbir Singh, Ravi Kant, Sadhu Singh, Raj Kumar, Ghosh, Guddu, Satish etc in it.
I am aware of another movie of the same name which was released in 1993 which was one of the most insufferable movies of all time that I ever saw. Hopefully the 1961 movie was a far more enjoyable movie.
The songs of “Roop Ki Raani Choron Ka Raaja” (1961) are quite enjoyable. Here is the theme cum title song of the movie. This extremely hummable song is sung by Talat Mehmood and Lata and it is picturised on Dev Anand and Waheeda Rehman. Hasrat Jaipuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Shankar Jaikishan.

Very Nice song….. apart from song I liked Atul ji’s quip ” I am aware of another movie of the same name which was released in 1993 which was one of the most insufferable movies of all time that I ever saw. ” LOL!

It amazes one to hear Talat singing such a romantic number, considering that most of his songs were ghazals. I am a great fan of Talat and love this number. Wonder where the song was shot, since there are many rocks.

There are few Talat’s songs with faster speed/beets which I also enjoy.
