Thhoda sa thhehro

Posted on: December 28, 2012

“Victoria no 203″ (1972) was produced and directed by Brij Agrawal. The movie had Navin Nischol, Saira Bano, Pran, Ashok Kumar, Pratima Devi, Anwar Hussain, Mohan Choti, Ranjeet, Meena Rai, Lolita Chatterjee, Anoop Kumar, Chaman Puri, Jagdish Raaj, V. Gopal etc in it. Though Navin Nischol and Saira Bano were the lead pair in this movie, it was the pair of AShok KUmar and Pran that stole the show.

The songs of this movie were extremely popular during its time. Three of these songs have been discussed in the past. Here is the fourth song from this movie. This song is sung by Lata. I, who had not watched the movie when the movie was initially realeased, was under the impression that Saira Bano sings this song for the hero, but when I saw the picturisation much later, I found that Saira Bano sings this song in a bid to protect her from Ranjeet, who is seen casting his evil eyes on her.

Indeewar is the lyricist. Music is composed by Kalyanji Anandji.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Nitin Shah.

With this song, Victoria no. 203 joins the list of movies that have all their songs discussed in the blog. This blog now has more than 200 movies with all their songs discussed, and more movies are getting added to the list almost on a daily basis.

Song-Thhoda sa thhehro (Victoria no. 203)(1972) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Indeewar, MD-Kalyanji Anandji

Lyrics(Provided by Nitin Shah)

thoda sa thehro
thoda sa thehro
karti hu tumse vaada
poora hoga tumhaara irada
karti hu tumse vaada
poora hoga tumhara irada
main hu saari ki saari
tumhari
phir kahe ko jaldi karo
thoda sa thehro
thoda sa thehro

pehle mujhe apna hamraaz banaao
pehle mujhe apna hamraaz banaao
phir tum mere dil ke armaan jagaao
waqt dhalega
dil machlega
karenge ham tum pyaar
ek baat ki baat hi kya hai
baatein hongi hazaar
arre thoda sa thehro
karti hoon tumse vaada
poora hoga tumhaara iraada
karti hu tumse vaada
pura hoga tumhara irada
main hu saari ki saari
tumhari phir kahe ko jaldi karo
thoda sa thehro
thoda sa thehro

dil ko mere jeeto tab haath badhaao
dil ko mere jeeto tab haath badhaao
apni mohabbat ka ehsaas dilaao
gul bhi khilenge
ham bhi milenge
milne toh do jazbaat
tum mujhe samjho
main tumhein samajhoon
tabhi nibhega saath
arre thoda sa thehro
karti hoon tumse vaada
poora hoga tumhara iradaa
main hu saari ki saari tumhaari
phir kaahe ko jaldi karo
thoda sa thehro
thoda sa thehro

Pradeepji Where are you?

V-203 was really a rollicking comedy. The movie transports me to our engineering college hostel halcyon days. There hangs a tale.
One day our neighbour came to our room to enquire whether we would like to see V-203 as he was booking the tickets in Rahul, Pune. We (3 of us room-mates including one Rao) okayed. On the day I gave Rao’s ticket as would follow us soon. Half an hour into the movie Rao hot foots in huffing and puffing. I told him to recite his Ram Kahani in the interval. It so transpired that he thought the movie was at Natraj(were Pakeeza was running few kms away). Luckily he saw one friend with the cycle. He rush to Rahul with his cycle. After the show he casually walked with us with the cycle. He suddenly remembered that the he brought the wrong cycle. He ran. In the meantime other fellow took his cycle leaving a forwarding address for future exchange. He was really forgetful.
