Naye zamaane ka naya paighaam sunaane aaye ham

Posted on: February 11, 2013

I discovered the songs of “Mad Bhare Nain” (1955) recently and I was surprised to know that so little was known about this movie.

Not any longer. Our beloved inhouse encyclopaedia Mr Arunkumar Deshmukh has now shared up the details of this movie. Here is what he has to say about this movie:

MADBHARE NAIN-1955 was a light comedy dealing in young hearts and their love. The entire story-or atleast the major part takes place in beautiful Darjeeling. This was a film which can be called as a precursor to such films as ‘Love in Simla’, “Jab pyar kisise hota hai”, “Dil deke dekho” and the likes of them which were films without much of a story but good locales, good songs good actors and comedy se bharpoor scenes, which were a rage in the 60s and 70s.

The film was directed by a veteran who was well known in Bangla film industry-Hem Chander. He started his career in Calcutta with a small role in Chasher meye-1931. Then he joined new Theatres and worked as assistant director to premankur Atorthy for “Karvaan e hayat”, a Saigal film. He gave direction independently to Ananth Ashram-1937 a hit film in those days. He has directed about 25 films in Hindi and Bangla. His last Hindi film was ‘Bandhan’-1956 and last Bangla film in 1960.

The story of the film was witten by R.L.Anand who also was the producer of the film. The music was by S D Burman and his assistant Suhrid Kar.

Shyam is the darling nephew of Seth Ramprasad(David) and Leelavati(Durga Khote). They were an ideal couple but had a fight on the subject of marriage of Shyam(Kishore Kumar). While Leelavati had selected a girl, whom she met as an election Volunteer, Ramprasad had selected friend Kedarnath’s daughter whom he had seen only in her childhood. Both had a fight over this. Fed up of this, Shyam decides to go to Darjeeling. In the train compartment he finds Malati(Bina Rai) who has run away from home to avoid marriage with an unknown man. They do not get on well first but due to the perseverence of Shyam, soon the are in deep love with each others and sing many songs around trees and near riverbank and such other scenic spots.unfortunately the music is not upto the mark. Looks like instead of dada, S.Kar managed the music.

Anyway, the parents of Malti, Kedarnath(Nazir Hussain) and mother (Achla Sachdev) go to police and come to Darjeeling with police to get malti. The love birds run away. To cut the long story short, soon it is revealed that everybody had suggested the same girl Malti for Shyam.

All 4 parents are happy, the couple is happier and the Police are the happiest having solved a case successfully !

Here is another song from “Mad Bhare Nain” (1955). This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle and chorus.Shailendra is the lyricist. Music is composed by S D Burman.

Only the audio of this song is avaialble and so it is difficult to say how this son was picturised in the movie.

Song-Naye zamaane ka naya paighaam (Mad Bhare Nain)(1955) Singer-Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-Shailendra, MD-S D Burman
Chorus

Lyrics

naye zamaane ka naya paighaam sunaane aaye ham
jaag re desh ke bande
aalam ko jagaane aaye ham
naye zamaane ka naya paighaam sunaane aaye ham
aa aa aa aa aa

koi dewe sachh ki sada
bhagwan ka thekedaar koi
aur loot ke dukhiyaaron ke ghar
banta hai pehredaar koi
loot ke dukhiyaaron ke ghar
banta hai pehredaar koi

o o o
o o
rang birangi duniya ki tasweer dikhaane aaye ham
aaye ham
jaag re desh ke bande
aaa aaa aaa
jaag re desh ke bande

aalam ko jagaane aaye ham
naye zamaane ka naya paighaam sunaane aaye ham
aa aa aa
aa aa

ye dharti bhari khazaanon se
phir bhi koi laachaar hai kyun
har chauraste pe insaanon ka
ye sasta baazaar hai kyun
har chauraste pe
insaanon ka ye sasta baazaar hai kyun

ho o o
bhedbhaav ki ye oonchi deewaar giraane aaye ham
aaye ham
jaag re desh ke bande
aaa aaa
jaag re desh ke bande

aalam ko jagaane aaye ham
naye zamaane ka naya paighaam
sunaane aaye ham

aa aa aaa
aa aa

dhan daulat ke aasan pe baith
talwaar ki pooja band karo
band karo
taaqat ke nashe mein
nafrat ke avtaar ki pooja band karo
taaqat ke nashe mein
nafrat ke avtaar ki pooja band karo

ho o o
duniya ko pyaar ki reet
aman ka geet sikhaane aaye ham
aaye ham
jaag re desh ke bande
aaa aaa
jaag re desh ke bande

aalam ko jagaane aaye ham
naye zamaane ka naya paighaam
sunaane aaye ham
jaag re desh ke bande
aalam ko jagaane aaye ham
naye zamaane ka naya paighaam
sunaane aaye ham
jaag re desh ke bande

It should be Madhbhare Nain.

Nitin ji,
I think Madbhare Nain is right.here Mad stands for Madak ta (attractiveness),whereas madh may mean Honey. The actual Film poster too is for MADBHARE NAIN only.
