Ajab teri kareegari re kartaar

Posted on: September 7, 2013

“Dus Laakh” (1966) was a Goel Cine Corporation production. It was produced and directed by Devendra Goel. The movie had Sanjay Khan, Babita, Manorama, Seema Deo, Brahmachari, Helen, Pran, Ramesh Deo, Om Prakash, Hari Shivdasani etc in it.

Seven songs (including a set of multiple version song) from this movie have been discussed in the past. I was under the impression that no more songs from this movie were left to be discussed. It turns out that another set of multiple version song from the movie was stiff left to be covered.

Here is that song. This song had a happy duet version as well as a sad male solo version.

The happy version is sung by Rafi, Krishna Kalle and chorus. It is picturised on a Krishna bhajan on a happy family consisting of Om Prakash, Sanjay Khan, Ramesh Deo, Babita, Seema Deo etc. The three male characters take turns lip syncing in Rafi’s voice while Babita and Seema Deo do likewise in Krishna Kalle’s voice. Other lesser characters sing as chorus.

The sad version is a Rafi solo version. This song plays in the background while Sanjay Khan, Ramesh deo, Seema Deo, Babita, two kids and a servant (in short everyone except Om Prakash) find themselves thrown out of their own home.

This multiple version song from “Dus Laakh” (1966) is written by Prem Dhawan. Music is composed by Ravi.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Khyati Bhatt.

With this song, all the nine songs from the movie have been covered and this movie now joins the list of movies that have all their songs covered in the blog.

Part I (Happy duet version)

Part II (Sad solo version)

kis bidh kare bakhaan prabhu
tere koti koti upkaar
kal tak thhi khaali jholi
aur aaj bhare bhandaar
ajab teri kaarigari re kartaar
ajab teri kaarigari re kartaar
samajh na aaye maaya teri
samajh na aaye maaya teri
badle rang hazaar

ajab teri kaarigari re kartaar
ajab teri kaarigari re kartaar

dene waale toone ye ghar
khushiyon se bhar daala
ye ghar khushiyon se bhar daala
teri dayaa ne pal mein daata
kyaa se kyaa kar daala

daata kyaa se kyaa kar daala
tu sab se bada hai daani
teri leela kisne jaani
jag soch soch gaya haar
ajab teri kaarigari re kartaar
ajab teri kaarigari re kartaar

o o o o
o o o o o
o o o o o
o o o o o
o o o o o
chhota sa sansaar hamaara
swarg banaaye rakhna
chhota sa sansaar hamaara
swarg banaaye rakhna

is bagiyaa mein sada khushi ke
phool khilaaye rakhna

is bagiyaa mein sada khushi ke
phool khilaaye rakhna

chaahe raja ho ya bhikhaari
toone vipdaa sab ki taari
are waah re paalan haar
ajab teri kaarigari re kartaar
ajab teri kaarigari re kartaar
samajh na aaye maaya teri
samajh na aaye maaya teri
badle rang hazaar
ajab teri kaarigari re kartaar
ajab teri kaarigari re kartaar

ajab teri kaarigari re kartaar
ajab teri kaarigari re kartaar
ajab teri kaarigari re kartaar
ajab teri kaarigari re kartaar

Part II

ajab teri kaarigari re kartaar
ajab teri kaarigari re kartaar
samajh na aaye maaya teri
samajh na aaye maaya teri
badle rang hazaar
ajab teri kaarigari re kartaar
ajab teri kaarigari re kartaar

gharwaale hi ghar se nikle
ho kar aaj paraaye ae ae
gharwaale hi ghar se nikle

kise dosh den jab maali hi
apna chaman jalaaye
maali apna chaman jalaaye
tera kaisa ye sansaar
ajab teri kaarigari re kartaar
ajab teri kaarigari re kartaar

kis ki nazar lagi is ghar ko
bikhar chale sab tinke ae ae
kis ki nazar lagi is ghar ko
bikhar chale sab tinke
murjhaayi hai wo kaliyaan
khilne ke din thhe jinke
koyi yoon na ho laachaar
ajab teri kaarigari re kartaar
ajab teri kaarigari re kartaar
samajh na aaye maaya teri
samajh na aaye maaya teri
