Nainon se naina milaa ke – Song no. 11
——————————————-
With post of 10th song in the series, I thought the series is complete. But it was not to be. A fellow contributor to the blog, Mr. Nitin Shah, has magnanimously offered a wide choice of songs for this series, and contributed the lyrics, compelling me to continue the series for a few more songs.

Here is the first of his contributions to feature in the series. The movie is Chham Chhama Chham (1952). Music is composed by O. P. Nayyar and lyricist is P. L. Santoshi. This must be the first film of O. P. Nayyar as music director.

Five songs of the film are posted in the blog and a lot of information about the film is available in those song posts.
This song is supposedly sung by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle. Kishore Kumar is the hero of this film so is singing for himself, where as Asha is singing the actual song. Kishore Kumar voice is recongnisable in the gibberish talk that is punctuating the song. I was able to decipher just a few words in the gibberish. I am using this word, but let me check what it actually means in contemporary English.
Google meaning of ‘gibberish’ is :
‘unintelligible or meaningless speech or writing; nonsense’

It is obvious listening to the song that some sort of nonsense talk/announcing/news reading game is going on. In the absence of video it is difficult to judge, what exactly is the scene. The song alone sound like a mujra, or it could be a road side tamasha song, with the gibberish talk as added entertainment for the audience.

So essentially this is solo song by Asha Bhosle. Asha Bhosle had earlier featured in the series. But the MD and lyricist were new, in this series. So the status is 11 songs, 11 singers, 12 MD’s and 12 lyricists. This is one song among those contributed by Mr. Nitin Shah , which is actually suiting the theme of the series, ‘nainon se naina mila ke’.

Song-Naina mila naina mila…zara chupke se nain a mila saanwre (Chham Chhama Chham)(1952) Singers-Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-P L Santoshi, MD-O P Nayyar

Lyrics(Provided by Nitin Shah)

pandharpur se munshi munaqqa ne khabar di hai
ke korea ka kabristan palat gaya
murde ukhadkar sugar mill mein bharti hone lage
aa aa aa
ham dilli se bol rahe hain
ab aapko miss parsad begam ausla faislabad
ek thumri
master badnaam singh aur gumnaam singh ?? sunaayengi

naina mila
naina mila
naina mila aa aa
naina milaa
naina mila
naina mila
naina naina mila
zara chupke se
zara chupke se naina mila saanwre
kahin dekh na le saara gaaon
ae ae
dekh na le saara gaaon
duniya ki nazron se nazren bachaaun
nazre bachaaun
duniya ki nazron se nazren bachaun
nazren bachaaun
bhari dopahriya mein milne ko aaun
bhari dopahriya mein milne ko aaun
dekh ke thhandi chhaanv aanv
dekh ke thandi chhaanv
zara chupke se
zara chupke se naina mila saanwre
kahin dekh na le saara gaaon
ae ae ae dekh na le saara gaaon

bambai mein pichle dinon ?? ka
toofaan jo aaya thha
?? ke ilake ke ek pathan udkar
?? studio ke chhat ke andar aan kira
pathan ke
ek paise ke andar
chhe maheene ka ration
doosre paise ke andar
paintees ??
uske koolhe ke andar
aath gaz paani maujood thha

kaise kate tum bin pal chhin
tum bin pal chhin re
kaise kate tum bin pal chhin
tum bin pal chhin re
milne ka tumse rasta kathin re
milne ka tumse rasta kathin re
kaanta chubhe mere paaon
kaanta chubhe mere paaon
zara chupke se
zaraa chupke se naina mila saanwre
kahin dekh na le saara gaaon
ae ae ae dekh na le saara gaaon

bambai railway line par
ek machchar aur ek haathi mein
teen din tak ladaai hoti rahi
aakhirkaar machar haathi ko chonch mein dabaakar
aasmaan per ud gaya
machar railway line par machar ke par itne pade hain ki
janta express teen hafte late rahegi

naina mila
naina mila
naina mila aa aa
naina milaa
naina mila
naina mila
naina naina mila
zara chupke se
o zara chupke se naina mila saanwre
kahin dekh na le saara gaaon
ae ae ae dekh na le saara gaaon

Nahm ji – one more request, i have earlier shared a song to Atul ji ( on 05.12.2013) from 1954 -UR- Film – TEER sung by Zareena Mistry ‘ nainon se nain mila aankh mori phadke’.
This is very very beautiful song, please include this one also in your series.
When i was going through your posts on ‘naino se naina..’ i remember that i had few songs already shared, but could not confirm to you, as the last few days were hectic on work front. Well, i had also forwarded to you this one and the one from ‘Jhoom Uttha Aakash’ on mail. Thanks !

This song is just wonderful. It is as good as any, that were posted in the series.

Thanks for finding and sharing.

Atul ji,

Thanks for making sense out of the gibberish. I thought there is another voice apart from Kishore Kumar here. How can even Kishore speak two words at once, simultaneously ?
