“Lagan”(1941) was directed by Nitin Bose for New Theatres, Calcutta. The movie had K L Saigal, Kanan devi, Jagdeesh Sethi, Nawab, Nemo, G Vaid, Rahmat Bivi, Naresh Bose, D R Das, O premi, Madho Shukla etc in it.
Ten songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the eleventh and final song from this movie. This song is sung by Kanan Devi and picturised on her as well.
HFGK does not have details of this song, vis a vis its singer, lyricist etc. But as can be seen, the video of this song is available and so one can easily see that the song is sung and picturised on Kanan Devi.
Aarzoo Lucknowi is the lyricist. Music is composed by R C Boral.
HFGK lists ten songs in the movie, whereas this is the eleventh song from the movie to be discussed in the blog. One additional song is the K L Saigal song Kaise kate ratiyaan baalam which has somehow escaped finding a mention in HFGK.
With this song, “Lagan”(1941) joins the list of movies that have all their songs covered in the blog.

Lyrics
takat hoon tumhri oar saajan
takat hoon tumhri oar
takat hoon tumhri oar saajan
takat hoon tumhri oar
tum sab kuchh ho
main nahin kuchh bhi ee ee
tum sab kuchh ho

Atulji,
While going through the Volume IV of HFGK making the list of “balance movies”, I also found few interesting trivia like this one where more song are there in the movie than listed in the book. Sudhirji once told me that Har Mandir Singhji updates his volumes whenever he is notified.
Thanks and congratulations on covering all songs of this movie. I am sure Avinashbhai won’t mind if I applaud this time 🙂

Khyati ji , every member should in fact Congratulate Atul ji whenever a ‘film’ gets covered with all songs. Because its a moment of something being achieved , a small task getting completed in the pursuit of a ‘big goal’ and that with a ‘purpose’ behind it.Every such moment gives a lot of satisfaction and motivation for the next step on the journey 🙂 ( that is what I think) 🙂
