Today (1 october 2014) is the birth anniversary of Majrooh Sultanpuri. On this occasion, here is a song from “Ishaara” (1964). This song is sung by Mahendra Kapoor and Lata. Majrooh Sultanpuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Kalyanji Anandji.

Only the audio of this song is available. It is almost certain that the song is picturised on Joy Mukherji and Vyjyanti Mala. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Prakashchandra.

The lyrics suggest that it is not a broken heart song, but a pained heart song. I had not thought about this difference in songs dealing with matters of heart. :)

With this song, the seventh and final song from the movie, “Ishaara” (1964) joins the list of movies that have all their songs covered in the blog.

Song-Nahin jahaan mein naadaan koi hamsa bhi (Ishaara)(1964) Singers-Mahendra Kapoor, Lata, Lyrics-Majrooh Sultanpuri, MD-Kalyanji Anandji

Lyrics(Provided by Prakashchandra)

nahin jahan mein
nadaan koyee
hum saa bhi..eee
nahin jahaan mein nadaan
koyee hum saa bhi..eee
wafa ke naam pe
bekaar dil dukhaa baithhe
hamaare pyaar ki
majbooriyaan
koyee dekhe ae
hamaare pyaar ki
majbooriyaan
koyee dekhe ae
khud apne aapko
hum bewafa banaa baitte

hum apne shauk ki
daali sajaa rahe thhe abhi ee
hum apne shaukh ki
daali sajaa rahe thhe abhi
haseen khwaabon ke
tinke bichcha rahe thhe abhi
sitam ke sholey kuchch
aise jagaaye duniyaa ne ae
bhari bahaar mein hum
aashiyaan jalaa baithhe

wafa ke naam pe
bekaar dil dukhaa baithhe

lagaa hai zakhm woh dil par
ke bhar sakey na kabhi ee
lagaa hai zakhm woh
dil par
ke bhar sake na kabhi
kiyaa woh dost ne
dushman jo kar sakey na kabhi
kissi ko kyun kahein yaaron
hum hi se bhool huyee ee
haseen jaan ke
patthar se dil lagaa baithhe
