Gosh, it simply does not cease. I mean the surprise in coming across absolutely lovely gems, from films one would least expect to. Here is the next Mukesh song from 1950. The film is ‘Hamaari Beti’. Produced and directed by Shobhana Samarth under the banner of Shobhana Pictures, this film was intended to be the launch vehicle for her daughter, Nutan.

Having made a debut in 1942, by the end of 1947, Mukesh had to his credit already, 42 songs from 21 films. The first and significant turning point in his career was already behind him – the iconic “Dil Jaltaa Hai. . .”.
