Tu mere saamne hai

Posted on: May 26, 2009

I was not aware that Madan Mohan had given music in a Guru Dutt movie. This movie was “Suhagan” (1964). It had Guru Dutt and Mala Sinha in lead roles.

Here is a romantic/sensuous song from this movie picturised on the duo. The song was sung by Rafi. Hasrat Jaipuri is the lyricist. I was not aware that Madan Mohan had worked with Hasrat Jaipuri in any of his movies. Well, one keeps learning new things daily.

song-Tu mere saamne hai (Suhaagan) (1964) Singer-Rafi, Lyrics- Hasrat Jaipuri, MD- Madan Mohan

Lyrics

tu mere saamne hai
teri zulfen hain khuli
teraa aanchal hai dhalaa
main bhala hosh mein kaise rahoon
tu mere saamne hai
teri zulfen hain khuli
teraa aanchal hai dhalaa
main bhala hosh mein kaise rahoon
tu mere saamne hai

teri aankhen to chhalakte huye paimaane hain
teri aankhen to chhalakte huye paimaane hain
aur tere honth larajte huye maikhaane hain
mere armaan isi baat pe deewaane hain
main bhalaa hosh mein kaise rahoon, kaise rahoon
tu mere saamne hai
teri zulfen hain khuli
teraa aanchal hai dhalaa
main bhala hosh mein kaise rahoon
tu mere saamne hai

tu jo hansti hai to bijli si chamak jaati hai
tu jo hansti hai to bijli si chamak jaati hai
teri saanson se gulaabon ki mahak aati hai
tu jo chalti hai to kudrat bhi bahak jaati hai
main bhalaa hosh mein kaise rahoon, kaise rahoon
tu mere saamne hai
teri zulfen hain khuli
teraa aanchal hai dhalaa
main bhala hosh mein kaise rahoon
tu mere saamne hai

Thank you and excellent song. Mohd. Rafi has put in all his soul singing this song. The variations in singing of ‘Saa’ of ‘Saamne hai’ is worth noting, showing the flashes of mood.
