Saathiyaa nahin jaanaa ke ji na lage

Posted on: July 19, 2009

Here is a typical Anand Bakshi- Laxmikant Pyarelal song from their heydeys. It is from “Aaya Saawan Jhoom Ke”(1969).

This song is a duet sung by Rafi and Lata. It is picturised on Dharmendra and Asha Parekh. It is easily one of the more popular songs of those days. Listening to this song can cheer people up even today.

Song-Saathiyaa nahin jaana ke ji na lage (Aaya Saawan Jhoom Ke) (1969) Singers-Rafi, Lata, Lyrics-Anand Bakshi, MD-Laxmikant Pyarelal

Lyrics

saathiyaa nahin jaanaa ke ji naa lage
saathiyaa nahin jaanaa ke ji naa lage
mausam hai suhaanaa ke ji naa lage
saathiyaa nahin jaanaa ke ji naa lage
saathiyaa maine maanaa ke ji naa lage
ji ko thaa samjhaanaa ke ji naa lage
saathiyaa nahin jaanaa ke ji naa lage

mere achchhe baalmaa chhodo aaj bainyaa
wo jhoothaa jo sainyaa kal aaye naa
jaake phir aaogi aake phir jaaogi
aane-jaane mein jawaani dhal jaaye naa
ho chhodo aanaa jaanaa ke ji naa lage
saathiyaa nahin jaanaa ke ji naa lage
saathiyaa maine maanaa ke ji naa lage

ji kaa buraa haal hai jab se ji lagaayaa
tujhe ji mein basaayaa tere ho liye
ji kaa thaa khayaal to kaahe ji lagaayaa
mujhe ji mein basaayaa ai ji boliye
ho ab kaahe pachhataanaa ke ji naa lage

o ho chhodo ye bahaanaa
ke ji naa lage
saathiyaa nahin jaanaa ke ji naa lage
mausam hai suhaanaa ke ji naa lage
saathiyaa nahin jaanaa ke ji naa lage
saathiyaa nahin jaanaa ke ji naa lage

I really liked this song when it first came out. This was a good movie. Very entertaining.

Now seeing it again, I wonder about things like “did they de-ant the trees before leaning on them..”

Thanks for posting this song!
