Atul’s Song A Day- A choice collection of Hindi Film & Non-Film Songs

Saare jahaan se achchaa Hindustan hamaaraa

Posted on: January 26, 2011

Though the first few lines of this song are the same as Iqbal’s song, other lines of this song are different. This patriotic song is from “Bhai Bahan” (1959). This song is sung by ASha Bhonsle and picturised on a kid. I have no idea about the identity of the kid. I request my knowledgeable readers to help identify the actor.

Raja Mehdi Ali Khan is the lyricist and music is composed by N Datta.

Here is this partiotic song on the occasion of India’s republic day on 26th january.

Song-Saare jahaan se achchaa Hindustan hamaara (Bhai Bahan) (1959) Singer-Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-Raja Mehdi Ali Khan, MD-N Datta

Lyrics

Saare jahaan se achchaa Hindustan hamaara
Saare jahaan se achchaa Hindustan hamaara
Ham bulbule hai iske
ye gulsitaan hamaara
Saare jahaan se achchaa Hindustan hamaara

parwat hain uske oonche
pyaari hai iski nadiyaan
hmm hmm hmm
parwat hain uske oonche
pyaari hai iski nadiyaan
aakasah mein isi ki
guzri hazaaron sadiyaan
guzri hazaaron sadiyaan
hansta hai bijliyon par
ye aashiyaan hamaaraa
Ham bulbule hai iske
ye gulsitaan hamaara
Saare jahaan se achchaa Hindustan hamaara

veeraan kar diyaa thhaa
aandhi ne iss chaman ko
aaa aaaa aaaa aaaa
veeraan kar diyaa thhaa
aandhi ne iss chaman ko
dekar lahu bachaaya
Gandhi ne iss chaman ko
Gandhi ne iss chaman ko
rakshaa karega iski
har naujawaan hamaaraa
ham bulbule hain iske
ye gulsitaan hamaara
saare jahaan se achchaa Hindustan hamaara

aawaaz de yahaan hai
ye aman ka pujaari
hmm hmm hmm
aawaaz de yahaan hai
ye aman ka pujaari
ye jang aur ladaayi
hamko nahin hai pyaari
hamko nahin hai pyaari
kyaa keh rahaa hai dekho
qaumi nishaan hamaaraa
ham bulbule hai iske
ye gulsitaan hamaara
saare jahaan se achchaa Hindustan hamaara

hi atul! Happy Republic day; Happy Independence day. this is how people greet each other on these holidays, was not there in our system of things when we were kids. any ways this is a different patriotic song, am hearing it after decades i think even Door Darshan does not show it these days.
May i correct the one mistake in the lyrics that you ve written. There is a line which goes “aawaaz de yahaan hai” in what you ve written. on hearing repeatedly i found that it shd read “aawaaz de raha hai; yeh aman ka pujaari”.
ok now coming to ur question how cud u not recognize baby Naaz or was it Baby Honey Irani causing you problems?
