“Nishaan” (1965) was a B grade movie starring Sheikh Mukhtaar,Sanjeev Kumar, Nazima, Prem Chopra, Helen, Mukri, Sulochana etc. In these B grade movies, where Sheikh Mukhtaar used to act as the tough guy who let hisfists do the talking and singing for him, the job of singing and dancing as public understood was entrusted to the side hero and the lead lady. In this movie Sanjeev Kumar and Nazima are entrusted with the job of singing romantic duets while Sheikh Mukhtaar concentrates on his strong arm tactics.
Here is a romantic duet song from this movie. and what a song ! I have listened to this song in passing in the past, but i never knew that this song was from this movie. This lovely song is sung by Mukesh and Suman Kalyanpur. Both of them were blessed with Midas touch that saw their songs ending up as extremely hummable songs, and this song is no exception.
Jawed Anwar is the lyricist and Usha Khanna is the music director.
