Boonden nahin sitaare tapke hain kehkashaan se

Posted on: October 25, 2011

“Saajan Ki Saheli” (1980) is a movie which came up in the last stage of the Golden era of Hindi movie music. Those were the days when Disco music was becoming the rage and lyrics were losing their importance in such songs. During those days, we fortunately still had the kind of music in some movies that we had grown up to love all these decades. These were off beat movies, smaller budget movies, family values movies- in brief “non mainstream movies”.

Here is a song from “Saajan Ki Saheli” (1980). This song is sung by Rafi and it is picturised on Vinod Mehra and Rekha. Majrooh Sultanpuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Usha Khanna.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Atif M.

Song-Boondein nahin sitaare tapke hain kehkashaan se (Saajan Ki Saheli) (1980) Singer-Rafi, Lyrics-Majrooh Sultanpuri, MD-Usha Khanna

Lyrics(Provided by Atif M)

boondein nahin sitaare
tapke hain kehkashaan se
boondein nahin sitaare
tapke hain kehkashaan se
sadqe utar rahe hain
tum par ye aasmaan se
boondein nahin sitaare
tapke hain kehkashaan se

moti ke rang rut ke
qatre damak rahe hain
ya reshmi laton mein
jugnu chamak rahe hain
aanchal mein jaise bijli
kaundhe yahaan wahaan se
sadqe utar rahe hain
tum par ye aasman se
boondein nahin sitaare
tapke hain kehkashaan se

dekhe to koi aalam
bheege se pairhan ka
paani mein hai ye shola
ya noor hai badan ka
angdayi le rahe hain
armaan jawaan jawaan se
sadqe utar rahe hain
tum par ye aasman se
boondein nahin sitaare
tapke hain kehkashaan se

pehlu mein aake mere
kya cheez lag rahi ho
baanhon ke daaere mein
tasveer lag rahi ho
hairaan hoon ke tumko
dekhoon kahaan kahaan se
sadqe utar rahe hain
tum par ye aasman se
boondein nahin sitaare
tapke hain kehkashaan se
sadqe utar rahe hain
tum par ye aasmaan se
boondein nahin sitaare
tapke hain kehkashaan se

hullo Sudhirji
there is a Qawwali in this movie “Saajan Ki Saheli” also which is more like a stage dance drama. i hope it will also find place here though i admit that it might not hold a light to all the high quality qawaalis featured here
