Regulars may be wondering why there were no posts today so far. I was travelling today at the time when I normally post and I have come near the internet only just now. The day is still live so I will still try and make it count. Today (10th january) is the birthday of Yesudas so today we will try and discuss a few songs sung by Yesudas.
Here is a song of the popular category called ” How come this song was not posted till now !” 🙂 This song is from “Chitchor”(1976) and as is my wont, I was under the erroneous impression that this song was already covered. In reality I had covered some other (equally popular) songs from this movie in the blog.
This song is sung by Yesudas and Hemlala. The song is lip synced by Amol Palekar and Zareena Wahaab. Others who are visible in the picturisation are Vijayedra Ghatge, A K Hangal, Dina Pathak and Master Raju.
Ravindra Jain is the lyricist as well as music director to this song.
The lyrics of this song were sent to me by Khyati Bhatt and she was helped by Mr Bhatt in getting the sargam portion of the lyrics right.
It is an extremely sweet song. In fact, all songs of “Chitchor” (1976) have that quality and these songs were mainly instrumental in the ensuring that this movie was a success at the box office.

Thanks Atul for posting this. The song and the error free lyrics really brought down my Migraine headache when I sang along.

Hello Atul,
I’ve been looking for the word after “path mein deep ____” and till now, none of the online lyrics have the right word, except yours. The word is “baale” . Great work!

HI Atul,
I could not get the sargam of this song from about 8 or so sites I searched. Great! I got it here. Before this, I checked out the lyrics of ‘Main abhi gair hoon mujko abhi apna na kaho. I am truly impressed by the accuracy of the lyrics on this site.

Thanks for writting these lyrics with lot of dedication.
Such wonderful song , has natural power to pull anyones attention towards it.
But to ubderstand the meaning , it requires people like you who share those superb lyrics with lot pain to put it in correct form .
