Pyaar ki nanhi maina chehke

Posted on: October 1, 2012

“Waapas” (1969) was a S S Chitra Mandir Presentation. It was directed by Satyen Bose. The movie had Ajay, Satyajit, Kishwar, Azra, Leela Mishra, Shekhar Purohit, Parveen Paul, Jankidas, Chandrima Bhaduri, Alka, Kumud Tripathi etc in it.

This lesser known movie had some amazing songs in it. Songs like Aayi bahaaron ki shaam and Ek tera saath are from this movie.

Here is another song from this little known movie. This song is picturised on Ajay and a small girl. The song is sung by Rafi. The song is a birthday song for the kid. Majrooh Sultanpuri, whose birth anniversary falls today (1 october) is the lyricist. Music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal.

I request our knowledgeable readers to tell us about this actor called Ajay who was fortunate to lip sync some divine Rafi songs in this movie.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by nahm.

Lyrics(Provided by nahm)

Pyaar ki nanhi maina chehke
jeewan meraa bhi le ke mehke
gudiyaaa si
meri laadli
gudiyaaa si
meri laadli
pyaar ki nanhi maina chehke
jeewan meraa bhi le ke mehke
gudiyaaa si
meri laadli
hmmm hmmmm
hmm hmmm hmmm
Ooo ooooo ooooooo

chaand kiran si
bole sadaa tu
ban ke hamaare nainon ki jyoti
Chaand kiran si
bole sadaa tu
ban ke hamaare nainon ki jyoti
jab to hanse to
phoote kali si
bole agar to baras jaayen moti
phool khile to itna keh ke
jeewan meraa bhi le ke mehke
gudiyaaa si
meri laadli
gudiyaaa si
meri laadli

choom loon mukhda nanhi pari yaa
tujh ko lagaa loon seene se apne
choom loon mukhda nanhi pari yaa
tujh ko lagaa loon seene se apne
laakhon baras tak soorat main teri
jeete rahe tere baba ke sapne
maa pukaare yeh keh keh ke
jeewan meraa bhi le ke mehke
gudiyaaa si
meri laadli
gudiyaaa si
meri laadli

aoor main tujh se be-bas khadaa hoon
aye dil ke tukde sochegi kyaa tu
door main tujh se be-bas khadaa hoon
aye dil ke tukde sochegi kyaa tu
tere janam din deepak se honge
nanhi si palkon pe nanhe se aansoo
dhoondhti hogi tu reh reh ke
jeewan meraa bhi le ke mehke
gudiyaaa si
meri laadli
gudiyaaa si
meri laadli
pyaar ki nanhi maina chehke
jeewan meraa bhi le ke mehke
gudiyaaa si meri laadli

There’s nothing much to say about poor Ajay. He vanished without a trace after ‘Waapas’ No film maker called him ‘waapas’. As for Alka, the heroine, she appeared as Rajesh Khanna’s wife in ‘Ittefaq’. She is murdered by Bindu, her sister in the movie. After ‘Ittefaq’, she too vanished.

Alka was also there
in Khilona as Sanjeev kumar`s first lover
in Kaalicharan as Shatrughna Sinha`s Sister
in Aansoo Ban gaye phoo with Deb mukherjee(lip syncing famous song “jaane kaisaa hai mera deewanaa”

in Thokar-1974: featured in Rafi`s famous soulful song sung by Baldev khosa addressing Alka-“apni aaknhon mein basaakar, koyee ikraar karo”
Last seen seducing Biswjeet in Do shikari(1979)

The famous bikini scene of Khote Sikkay 🙂

Really, 🙂
I missed that one. There is no scope for bikini scene in the story plot. Hindi film industrywaale scope nahin ho toh bhi beech mein aisi scenes ko ghused dete hain(It was a action filled story happens around a village like surroundaings Right ??)
If I remember correctly, one Mujra type song picturised on Rehana Sultan is there and another female actor madhuchanda(Hope I am right)is widow. Alka was also there. otherwise it is all a male action show.

Oh…got it.I have seen it through Doordarshan edited version, so DD is the villain 🙂

Anyway thanks for reminding that one and updating my filmi gyaan.

Regards
Prakash

Prakashji,

This is one of my favorite movies of 70s. The way I remember it,
Satyen Kappu is a judge who gots into the bad books of Daaku Jhanga (Ajit) and gets killed by him. The son grows up to be the no-name stranger (Feroz Khan) who is in search of Jhanga and his gang. Rehana Sultan is a tawaif and Jhanga’s brother wants her for himself. Villagers are oppressed and one villager Paital goes to the
town to meet his cousin, Narendra Nath who is a hoodlum and always gets into trouble with rest of his pals, Danny, Sudhir, Ranjeet and Kunwar Ajit Singh. They dont want to go to village to fight with dacoits but to hide from the law, they have no choice
but to go to the village. Danny’s girlfriend, played by Alka also follows them, and thats where the famous 2-piece bikini scene comes (not on YT, sorry! but check it out if u find somewhere:) ) when she goes to the lake to take a shower with all villagers watching. Danny slaps her and that way professes his love. Madhuchanda is a widow, and Narendra Nath falls for her. They fight with Junga and his gang with the help of Feroz Khan and the informer, Rehana Sultan, who falls for FK. Paintal and Ranjeet gets killed, but in the end, they manage to beat Jhunga who gets killed by Feroz Khan in this final scene from the movie, a la Clint Eastwood:

They tried to do the same thing again with Kachche Heere (1982) with almost same cast, but that was a junk movie. Only good stuff in that one was a few minutes cameo by director Prakash Mehra. This one’s fairly entertaining.

Thank a lot,
bluefire ji
for sharing information in detail about the movie.
I almost forgot the movie details. I like these type of movies full of character artistes, stylish feroz khan, R.D.Burman-kishore inspirational song and r.d`s music.
(Thoda fighting, thoda naach gaana, thoda rona dhona
you know how it is 🙂
At that time our parents didn`t allow us to watch such type of movies. I have to satisfy myself,by seeing the posters & other movie still photographs on print format.

I wish to catch those movies in future, for old times sake

Thanks again for my childhood memories.
Regards
Prakash
