“Rakshabandhan” (1976) was a Usha Productions movie. It was produced by K G Bhatt and directed by Shantilal Soni. The movie had Sachin, Sarika, Dulari, Meena.T., Jalal Agha, Lalita Pawar, Satyajeet, Nazir Hussain, P.Jairaj etc in it.
Here is a song from this movie. This song is sung by Usha Mangeshkar and chorus. The song also has an unidentified male voice. I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify this male voice.
PS-Thanks to Khyati Bhatt, we now know that the male singer is Keshav Rathod.
The song is picturised as a dandiya raas dance on Sarika, Sachin, Meena T etc. Dulari, who left for hear heavenly abode recently (on 18 january 2013) is also visible in the picturisation.
Kavi Pradeep is the lyricist and music is composed by C Arjun.
Thus we see that the musical team was the same that had collaborated in “Jai Santoshi Maa” (1975) just one year ago. And it must be said that the song under discussion is quite hummable and it is perhaps the most memorable song from this by now forgotten movie.
One can see from the picturisation that the song has a faster (happier) version as well as a slower (sombre) version. The link contains both the versions.

Thanks for this song. There was a Gujarati movie called “Khamma Mara Veera” with the same cast and MD. Here is a the Gujarati version of same song. I am not aware which version was made/released first.

The male singer sounds like Keshav Rathod, a Gujarati folk singer. His name is also there on the tag of this video clip. Thanks for posting.
It’s a sad news that Dulari, aka Ambika Jagtap is no more. I always have enjoyed her motherly role in Hindi cinema and side roles in Gujarati films. RIP.

Oh Khyatiji, The same song was ringing in my ears when I saw the title of this song. The Guju movie was a BIG hit. I don’t remember which was made first.
That was when the Sarika/Sachin jodi was a big thing.

Same case was with me as I had seen the Guj movie first and then Hindi, both on Sat/Sun night movie on Doordarshan.
Sachin and Sarika being in their right/real age to sing this kind of songs, could create that effect on the audience, specially younger generation.

we all seem to ve seen the same movies at the same tym. even i have seen “Khamma Mara Veera” on DD in those days of saturday regional movie & sunday Hindi movie, but of course i used to see only till 7.30 news uske baad TV band! so i ven’t seen both the movies full. but i ve seen both the songs.
&n yes the title of this post reminded me of the Gujarati song.
