“Pardes”(1950) was directed by M Sadiq for All India Pictures, Bombay. The movie had Madhubala, Rehman, Karan Dewan, Shakuntala, Jagdish Sethi, Jayant, Chanchal, Cuckoo, Mukri etc in it.

Six songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the seventh song from the movie.

This song is sung by Lata and chorus. Shakeel Badayuni is the lyricist. Music is composed by Ghulam Mohammad.

The song is picturised as a joyous dance song on Madhubala and other female dancers.

Lilting tune and sheer melody in music, and Lata. Can’t be better than this.
Ghulam Mohammed had a special fondness for melody, like Roshan, his creations are special. And though Madhubala was no Vyjayantimala, still her charm is evident throughout the song.
A great favorite.

Sharmaji,
Madhubala was also a trained dancer. Remember Mughl e Azam mohe panghat…Only she got less dancing roles than V-mala.

Respected Shah Sir,
I have no comments to offer about the dancing prowess of Madhubala, but most humbly I venture to add that if there is a beauty like Madhubala before you on stage, who (the hell) is going to notice the movement of her feet.
