“Piya Milan”(1945) was directed by S M Yousuf for Wadia Movietone, Bombay. This movie had Motilal, Nirmala Devi, Najma, Leela Mishra, Mirza Musharraf, Wazir Mohammad Khan, S Alam etc in it.

The movie had eleven songs in it that were penned by four lyricist and were sung by four female singers and one male singer.

Here is the first song from “Piya Milan”(1945) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Nirmala Devi. M Naseem is the lyricist. Music is composed by Feroz Nizami.

Only the audio of this song is available. It is clear that this song was picturised on Nirmala Devi herself.

I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the story of this forgotten movie.

With this song, “Piya Milan”(1945) makes its debut in the blog.

Song-Kisne diya hai hamko sahaara (Piya Milan ) (1945) Singer-Nirmala Devi, Lyrics-M Naseem, MD-Feroz Nizami

Lyrics

kisne diya hai hamko sahaara
kisne diya hai hamko sahaara
hone laga hai kaun hamaara
kisne diya hai hamko sahaara

kisne hai rote nain hansaaye
ae ae ae ae
kisne hai rote nain hansaaye
ae ae ae ae
kisne hai badla
kisne hai badla mera sitaara
hone laga hai kaun hamaara
kisne diya hai hamko sahaara

koi is jag mein mera nahin hai
koi is jag mein mera nahin hai
baabul nahin hai maata nahin hai
baabul nahin hai maata nahin hai
vyaakul man aur dukhiya naina
vyaakul man aur dukhiya naina
mujhse ab ye poochh rahe hain
mujhse ab ye poochh rahe hain

kis taare ki
kis taare ki sundar jyot se
hua hai ye ujiyaara aa
hone laga hai kaun hamaara
kisne diya hai hamko sahaara

jeewan bel ug aayi suhaani
honthon pe ik nayi kahaani
band hua hai aankh se paani
band hua hai aankh se paani
man veena pe gaaye jawaani
gaaye jawaani
hone laga hai kaun hamaara
hone laga hai kaun hamaara
kisne diya hai hamko sahaara aa aa aa aa

Beautiful song by Nirmala-ji. I am a collector of her songs, thanks for the addition of this un-heard song. (envious that you heard it first !!)
