“Amar Keertan”(1954) was a “bhakti pradhan” movie which was directed by K C Pandit for Punjab Film Corporation, Bombay. The movie had Asha Mathur, Shahu Modak, Naaz, Jayant, Rajendra, Seeta Bose, S Prakash, Prem Kumar, Sitaram, Maya Das, Hira Sawant, Kumkum, Lallan, Bansari, Neerja, Chaand Burque etc , with guest appearances by Ameeta Devi, Kamal Mehra and Madan Puri.
There were eleven songs in the movie. Original sound tracks of songs from the movie do not seem to available for most songs. The versions found on YT appear to be concert versions of these songs
Here is one song from the moviewhose audio is actually from the movie and not recordings from some concert. This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Wali Sahab is the lyricist. Music is composed by S D Batish.
Only the audio of this song is available. I request our knowledgeable leaders to throw light on the movie as well as on the picturisation of this song.
The words of this song are in “Rajasthani” and I am not sure that I have got the lyrics fully correct. I request our readers familair with the language/ dialect to suggest corrections in the lyrics, if any.
