“Birha Ki Raat” (1950) was directed by Jagidaar for Noble Arts Production. The movie had Dev Anand, Snehprabha, Nargis, Snehprabha, Om Prakash, Jagirdar, Madan Puri etc in it.

The movie had eight songs in it. seven songs from the movie have been discussed in the past.

Here is the eightt and final song from the movie to appear in the blog.

This rare song is sung by Shamshad Begam and chorus. Sarshar Sailaani is the lyricist. Music is composed by Husnlal Bhagartam.

Only the audio of the song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.

With this song, “Birha Ki Raat” (1950) joins the list of movies that have all their songs covered in the blog. It is the first movie in nearly four weeks to get YIPPEED in the blog. This YIPPEE project as well as the debutant movie project have slowed down of late, but hopefully it is just a temporary phase of lull.

Song-Bas dekhte hi dil mera deewaaana ho gaya(Birha Ki Raat)(1950) Singer-Shamshad Begam, Sarshar Sailaani, Husnlal Bhagatram
Chorus

Lyrics

unka qusoor thhaa
na hamaara qusoor thha
aankhon mein aankhen daal ke ae
dekha zurooor thha
aaa aaa aaa

bas dekhte hi
bas dekhte hi dil mera deewaaana ho gaya
haay pehli mulaaqaat
haay pehli mulaaqaat ka bahaana ho gaya

dil ki baat lab pe aayi
aa ke reh gayi
dil ki baat lab pe aayi
aa ke reh gayi
lab jo baat keh na sake
aankh keh gayi
haaye aankh keh gayi
bas itni si
bas itni si baat ka fasaana ho gaya
haay pehli mulaaqaat
haay pehli mulaaqaat ka bahaana ho gaya
bas dekhte hi

jaadoo bhare nainwa ko maan gaye ham
jaadoo bhare nainwa ko maan gaye ham
pyaar kise kehte hain ye jaan gaye ham
haaye jaan gaye ham
lo aaj samaa
lo aaj samaa aur bhi suhaana ho gaya
haay pehli mulaaqaat
haay pehli mulaaqaat ka bahaana ho gaya
bas dekhte hi
bas dekhte hi dil mera deewaana ho gaya
haay pehli mulaaqaat
haay pehli mulaaqaat ka bahaana ho gaya
