“Nishaan Danka” (1952) was directed by Jayant Desai for Vikas Productions, Bombay. This “costume” movie had Ranjan, Shyama, Jeevan, baby Tabassum etc in it.
Thmovie had seven songs in it. Three of these songs have been covered in the past.
Here is the third song from the movie. This song is sung by Geeta Dutt. Hasrat Jaipuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Basant Prakash.
HFGK listing of songs for this movie does not mention this song. However, the song index mentions this song as belonging to “Nishaan Danka” (1952).
Only the audio of this song is available and so it is difficult to tell how and on whom this song was picturised. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on this matter.

Atul ji,
An interesting observation on the lyrics. The underlying format of this song is a ghazal. As I am preparing the Hindi lyrics for this song, I find that this song is made from three couplets (she’er), which are fully compliant to the ghazal format.

Your observation is correct. This song is listed in the song index of 3rd volume, but it is missing from the film details itself.
Actually as we scan the details, we find that the serial nos. of songs goes from 1 to 7, but the line for serial no. 6 is missing. This is most likely a printing/proof reading error.
When we were doing data verification for our HFGK data base, we had detected this error. After checking with Harmandir ji, we acquired the details of the song at no. 6 (this song). The details are added to our data base. The gramophone record no. for this song is N 50335.
