‘Mere Jeewan Saathi-1972’ is well known for his music and its songs composed by R.D.Burman. Though the film was not that much successful as compared to other movies of the Superstar Rajesh Khanna at that time, its songs are still remembered and few of them have become timeless classics viz. ‘o mere dil ke chain’, ‘chalaa jaata hoon kisi dhoon mein’ etc.
This movie was produced by Vinod Shah and Harish Shah. It was directed by Ravi Nagaich (who also photographed the movie). It had Rajesh Khanna, Tanuja, Bindu, Sujit Kumar, Helen, Rajendranath, Utpal Dutt, Sulochana, Nazir Hussain, K N Singh, Krishna Kant, Bramhachari, Renu, Sonu, B.D.Purnik, Gurnam, Sabina, Vijay Deewan, Arun Bose, Master Tito, Mohan, Fazlu, Kabir Kumar, Sapru, Mamaji.
Story of this movie was written by Prem Manek and editing was done by Bimal Roy. Script and dialogues of this movie were written by Ramesh Pant.
This movie had a total of eight songs in it. Out of eight songs from the film, six songs have been discussed in the blog. This is the seventh song from the movie to be discussed in the blog.
Today’s song is the title song of the movie and it is sung by R.D.Burman. The song also has a female voice which I am not sure of with. Though HFGK (Vol-V) does not mention the singer’s name for this song we can easily identify the voice of R D Burman in it. Movie’s titles do not mention the name of R.D.Burman while giving the Singer’s names.
This movie was passed by the Censor board on 19.09.1972.
On the occasion of Pancham Da’s 23rd death anniversary (4 january 2017), here is this song from the movie ‘Mere Jeewan Saathi-1972’, written by Majrooh Sultanpuri and composed and sung by R.D.Burman.
Let us now enjoy the today’s song.

One unusual thing about this movie is Rajesh Khanna’ peak career with Panchamda almost all lyricist is Anand Bakshi, this is exceptional with Majrooh Sultanpuri, still the songs were hits. If anybody knows majrooh-rd-rajesh khanna starrers, pls mention…
