“Sangam”(1954), not to be confused with “Sangam”(1964) was produced by J P Agrawal and directed by Kiran Kumar for Rajhans Pictures, Bombay. This “social” movie had Kamini Kaushal, Shekhar, Shashikala, K N Singh, Murad, Rajrani, Chaman Puri, Ratan, Neera, Jeewan etc in it.
The movie had seven songs in it. Two of these songs have been covered in the past.
Here is the third song from “Sangam”(1954) to appear in the blog. The song is sung by Talat Mehmood and Mubarak Begam. S H Bihari is the lyricist. Music is composed by Ram Ganguly.
Only the audio of the song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.

A wonderful lost melody from another lesser known obscure film. This lovely song is from the 1956 film ‘Baadal Aur Bijli’. Another film, about which I have no information other than the contents of Geet Kosh. It is a stunt film produced under the banner of Artists United, Bombay. The producers of this film are Fore X-Maurice, Akbar, Asgar and Haider. (Now if that is not a very strange name combination, then what is?? 🙂 ). And the directors name is listed as Maurice, supposedly the first name in the producers list also. The star cast of this film includes Kumar, Ameeta, Yashodhara, Manorama, Hira Sawant, Manhar, Anwar, Sheikh, Rajan Haksar, Habib, Amrit Rana, Yashwant Raj, Ravi, Hanuman, Azim etc.

“Daak Babu” (1954) was a Jubilee Pictures presentation. The movie was directed by Lekhraj Bhakri and the starcast of the movie had Talat Mehmood, Nadira, Kuldip Kaur, Yashodhara Katju, Radha Krishan etc.

“Shagoon”(1964) is not a movie too many will remember. But this movie certainly had some nice songs in it. And other interesting trivia from this movie is that this movie had Kanwaljit and Waheeda Rehman in lead roles, and they subsequently married each other.
