‘Hifaazat’ (1987) was produced by A Suryanarayana and was directed by Prayag Raj. The main cast included Ashok Kumar, Nutan, Pran, Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Bindu, Shakti Kapoor, Kader Khan, Gulshan Grover, Sharat Saxena, Bharat Bhushan, Lalita Pawar, Shubha Khote, Vikas Anand, Vinod Raut, Birbal etc. This was the first film in which Madhuri Dixit was paired with Anil Kapoor. However, the film failed at the box office. They were again paired in ‘Tezaab’ (1988) which became a great success at the box office. This success led to both of them working as a lead pair in the next 12 films.

Today’s song is from a comedy film ‘Sabse Bada Rupaiya’ (1955).

This film was made by Aalhaad Chitra, Poona. This banner was owned by producer, director of repute, Datta aka Dada Dharmadhikari. Aalhaad was his son’s name. He used to feature in his father’s films as a child artist. The film was directed by PL Santoshi. There were 2 MDs, namely Nashaad (3 songs) and OP Nayyar (6 songs). Lyrics were by PL Santoshi and Majrooh Sultanpuri. The cast of  the film includes Shashikala, Agha, Aalhaad, Sunder, Nana Palsikar, Achala Sachdev, Krishnakant, Raja Gosavi, Premlata, Heera Sawant, Mubarak Begum, Vijaybala and others. Actress Vijaybala was the sister of the renowned Bollywood playback singer Mubarak Begum. Vijaybala’s real name was Mumtaz Begum. I love you o madam

I can watch songs of a movie any number of times. On the other hand, I find watching the same movie a waste of my time. Perhaps I have become “mature” with time. As a sign of this “maturity”,I would rather spend three hours trying to get the lyrics of a song right than watch the movie containing this song which may take less time.:D
