“Putli”(1950) was produced and directed by Wali Sahab for Punjab Film Corporation, Bombay. The movie had Mumtaz Shanti ,Pran, Yaqoob, Husn Banu, Srinath, Majnu, Prem Dhawan, Ramesh Thakur , Sheela Naik etc in it.
The movie had eleven songs in it. Three songs from the movie have been covered in the past.
Here is the fourth song from the movie. HFGK mentions this song as sung by Meena Kapoor. On listening to the song, one can notice that the song has a male voice as well. There were two lyricists in the movie viz Wali Sahab and Abid Gulrez. HFGK is silent about the lyricist of the song. Seeing that Wali sahab was the maker of this movie, one can assume that most songs, including this song, must have been penned by him. So I have assumed Wali Sahab as the lyricist of this song.
Picturisation shows Mumtaz Shanti and a gentleman standing in front of microphones and singing. They are either singng live for the radio or or they are recording- I am not sure.
I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the identification of the male singer as well as the male actor in the picturisation.

According to HFGK, the movie had two music directors viz Ghulam Haider and Hansraj Bahl. Hansraj Bahl is credited with two songs and Ghulam Haider with seven songs. Credits are not given for the remaining three songs.

Uploader of this song (our own Mr Sadanand Kamath) feels that Ghulam Haider is the composer of this song and that thiis song may have been picturised on Cuckoo. “Bada Kabootar”(1973) was produced and directed by Deven Verma for Navratna Films, Bombay. It was a light hearted movie (routinely categorirised as “social” movie in HFGK) which had Ashok Kumar, Rehana Sultan, Nikhilesh, Deven Verma, Keshto Mukherji, Subroto, Ashoo, Pinchoo Kapoor, Leela Mishra, Paul Sharma, Jal Parvez, Helen etc with lots of “new discoveries” viz Saajan, Kailash Sharma, Sameena, Master Ashwin and Master Ramesh, who quickly reverted back to remain undiscovered.
The movie had five songs in it. Here is the first song from “Bada Kabootar”(1973) in the blog. this song is the title song of the movie which appears gets played in the background while credits roll on the screen. The credits finish off soon enough and so this song has no chance to get played fully in the movie and only the first stanza of the is there in the movie. So one needs to listen to the record version of the song in order to listen to the full song.
