Hullo Atuldom
Today’s song is a melody from the late ’90s. It is from “Dushman” (1998) which was produced by Pooja Bhatt & Mukesh Bhatt and directed by Tanuja Chandra. It was well received by the critics and masses. It had a cast of Kajol (in a double role) with Sanjay Dutt, Ashutosh Rana, Tanvi Azmi, Jas Arora, Pramod Moutho, Naresh Suri etc. Kunal Khemu played a 11 year-old helper of the blind ex-serviceman played by Sanjay Dutt. The movie had nine songs (two songs have two versions) penned by Anand Bakshi and composed by Uttam Singh.
It was the story of a pair of twins- Sonia and Naina, and a sadistic serial killer Gokul (Ashutosh Rana). Gokul rapes and kills Sonia (Kajol). Naina is shaken, and distraught and vows to avenge her death. In this she seeks the help of Suraj Singh Rathod (Sanjay Dutt), a blind military veteran. Naina (Kajol) trains under him and overcomes her fear of the serial killer. And in the process falls in love with the blind Suraj. Today’s song is a romantic duet sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Kumar Sanu.
“Dushman” as a movie title was used in 1939, 1957, 1971, 1990 and 1998. The first three ‘Dushman’/s are already on the blog and Yyiippeeeed too.
Today we are having the 1998 “Dushman” making it’s debut on the blog on the occasion of Kajol turning a year younger.
The first post that the blog had to wish Kajol on her birthday was by Rajaji. He had posted a very melodious song from “Udhaar Ki Zindagi” (1994).
Kajol is one actress who is a “chip-off-the old-block” and has a lineage that has actors and filmmakers as grand parents (paternal and maternal) that starts with Sashadhar Mukherjee, and Shobana Samarth. Her mother Tanuja, aunt Nutan and cousins are all actors. Kajol herself is very versatile and has been awarded the Filmfare for best actress in a negative role for “Gupt” in 1997. She is also married into a Bollywood family-her husband is the actor/director/producer Ajay Devgan.
Here is wishing Kajol Happy Birthday and all the best in life and work.

Lyrics
pyaar ko ho jaane do,
pyaar me..ae..aen kho jaane do
aitba..aa..ar kiska hai,
inteza..aa..ar kiska hai
abhi na huwa toh phir kabhi nahin kabhi nahin
pyaar ko ho jaane do,
pyar mein kho jaane do
aitba..aa..ar kiska hai,
inteza.aa..ar kiska hai
abhi na huwa toh phir kabhi nahin kabhi nahin
pyaar ko ho jaane do o
pyaar ke beech mein
hum nahin aayenge
jis taraf le chala dil
chale jaayenge
chain sa aa gaya aa
yoon laga dil gaya aa
abhi na gaya to phir kabhi nahin kabhi nahin
pyaar ko ho jaane do
mujhko aankhon se dil mein utar jaane do
kuchh bigad jaane do
kuchh sanwar jaane do
ik bahaana bane ae
ik fasaana bane ae
abhi na bana to phir kabhi nahin kabhi nahin
pyaar ko o o
ho jaane do o o
aajkal phir kabhi
phir kabhi baad mein
baat reh jaayegi
yaad hi yaad mein
ho jo nahin hai kahaa
jo nahin hai kiya
abhi na kiya to phir kabhi nahin kabhi nahin
la la laa laa
laa la laa(hmm hmm hmm)
la la laa laa laa la laa
la la laa laa laa la laa
