2011 was the year when Dharam Devdutt Pishorimal Anand bid Adieu to this world. God it is four years since then. Seems like yesterday when I saw the news in the early hours of that Saturday and I had passed on the news to my Daddy dearest. He was 88 when he passed away. And by then he had acted in over 110 films and produced approximately 30 films. That is such a large number.

“Lucky Number” (1961) was a Manmohan Production film. It was directed by Manmohan Sabir and Mohan Rathod. The movie had Bhagwan, Ameeta,David Abraham, Helen, Hiralal, Indira Billi,Majnu, Robert, Ramesh Dutt(Introducing), Ramesh, Bhagwan, Tuntun, Rajen Haksar, Jagdish Kanwal, Nazir Kashmiri, Romeo (the Dog), Sardar Hardev Singh etc in it.

Bollywood music touched its nadir in 1980s when “Disco” music took over the music scene. The fact that Bappi Lahiri and Mithun da were the biggest beneficiary of that era says it all. Bappi Lahiri (though capable of creating great music) preferred to create forgettable music. Mithun da indulded in so called disco “densing”, which, if you watched closely, bore little resemblence to actual “densing”. “Densing”, incidentally was how Mithun da pronounced “dancing”.
