Today’s song is from an imaginary costume film ‘Son of Sindbad’ (1958).

Alibaba, Alladin and Sindbad were the popular characters during our school days. Not only books of their stories but also films made on them were the targets of all children in those days. It was a thrilling experience to get a book on one of these Heroes, as a gift on “Happy Birthday” ! I am not very sure if today’s young children read these stories. I doubt if they even know these names. These boys seem to favour Harry Potter stories, while the young girls are lost on reading Mills and Boon novels, I suppose ! The big fat book ‘Stories of Arabian Nights’ was the most sought after book (in spite of 5 copies) in our school library. Stories of Alibaba, Alladin, Sindbad the sailor, Hatimtai, Gul Bakavali etc enchanted us.

Arabian Night stories evolved through a story which took place in Persia. King Shahriyar became a woman hater after he found that his wife was unfaithful to him. He not only killed her, but he started marrying a new girl every time and on the second day of marriage the wife would be killed to avoid unfaithfulness.

The legend says that Scheherazade, the beautiful young daughter of the Vizier, decided to marry King Shahriyar, against wishes of her family. On the first night of marriage, she started telling him a story which she left unfinished. Curious to know the story’s end, the king postponed her killing. On every night Scheherazade employed the same technique-keeping the story unfinished. Thus she continued 1001 stories on 1001 nights. Finally the king changed his opinion and pardoned his wife.

As always, the creative heads in the story departments of filmmakers invented titles like ‘Alladin Ka Beta’, ‘Alladin Ki Beti’, ‘Alladin And Laila’ etc. Similarly son and daughter were gifted to Alibaba and Sinbad and films made on them. The funniest title was ‘Sindbad, Alibaba and Alladin’ (1965) ! On a quick check of HFGK entries for the 1940s decade we find that as many as 9 films were made in 1946 alone on these characters. Added were ‘Baghdad Ka Chor’, ‘Hoor e Baghdad’, ‘Sher e Baghdad’, ‘Arab Ka Chand’ and ‘Shah e Misr’ – in which actor Ajit debuted with his real name Hamid.

Most of these stories took place in the Middle East cities which were land locked. However, one character Sindbad was a sailor and his stories of adventures and voyages to magical, strange and unbelievable places were mind boggling. He was equally popular as Alibaba and Alladin.

The fertile imagination of the members of ‘Story Departments’ of studios must be appreciated. Films like ‘Son of Alibaba’ (1955), ‘Son of Hatimtai’ (1965), ‘Son of Sindbad’ (1958) and also ‘Daughter of Sindbad’ (1958) were made. The original book of Arabian Nights does not have any such stories of their progeny (what’s more, films like ‘Daughters of India’ (1938) and even ‘Son of India’ (1962) were made). The funniest title of a film was ‘Sindbad, Alibaba and Alladin’ which was made in 1965. I did not see that film, because I did not want to spoil my sweet memories of these 3 heroes !

Today’s film was produced by Ram Kamlani and Balwant Bhatt. It was directed by Nanabhai Bhatt , the veteran of such films and the music was composed by the Melody Maker Chitragupta. The cast of this film was Premnath, Jabeen Jaleel, Nishi, Poornima, Shammi, Sundar, Cuckoo and many more usual artistes of such films.

Jabeen Jaleel was a short petite but attractive actress. She was born on 1st April 1936 in Delhi, but was educated in Japan and Bombay, as her father was in foreign services of India. She used to take part in college dramas and in one such drama the judges were Nigar Sultana and her director husband SM Yusuf. They offered her a film as a heroine. Jabeen’s father had expired and only mother and younger brother were there. She accepted the offer. Her first film was ‘Guzaara’ in 1954. Her second film in 1955 was ‘Lutera’. Her first hero was Karan Dewan and second was Nasir khan. She became famous in ‘New Delhi’ (1956), in the role of Kishore’s sister Nikki’s. She acted in 29 films, out of which 5 were unreleased. She also acted in 4 Punjabi films. She got a National award in 1962 for a Punjabi film in which her hero was Prem Chopra.

She was a popular actress of Hindi cinema of the 1950s & 60s. Although She acted in merely 29 Hindi (5 films were unreleased) and 4 Punjabi films in her almost 20 years career, she made millions of fans of her beauty and wonderful acting. She has worked with top Bollywood stars like Shashi Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, Kishore Kumar, Dev Anand & Pradeep Kumar during 1955 to 1965.

Jabeen made her film debut with ‘Guzaara’ (1954) where her hero was Karan Dewan. Her second film was ‘Lutera’ (1955) where her hero was Nasir Khan. She however got true recognition with her third film, ‘New Delhi’ (1956) where she played the role of Kishore Kumar’s sister Nikki. She benefited by the success of ‘New Delhi’. In the late 1950s, many films starring her released, including ‘Char Minar’, ‘Fashion’, ‘Jeevan Sathi’, ‘Hathkadi’, ‘Panchayat’, ‘Raagini’, ‘Bedard Zamana Kya Jaane’ and ‘Raat ke Raahi’. In the 60s, Jabeen acted in films like ‘Batwara’, ‘Khiladi’, ‘Sachche Moti’, ‘Taj Mahal’ and ‘Raju’. The ‘Batwara’ song “Ye Raat Ye Fizaayen Phir Aayen Ya Na Aayen” picturised on her and Jawahar Kaul is popular to this day. She also got the National Award for the 1962 Punjabi film ‘Chaudhary Karnail Singh’ in which her hero was Prem Chopra. Jabeen acted in three other Punjabi movies ‘Kadi Dhoop Kadi Chhaon’, ‘Geet Baharaan De’ and ‘Ae Dharti Punjab Di’.

Many songs picturised on her were extremely popular including “Tum Aur Hum, Bhool Ke Gham, Gaayen Pyaari Bhari Sargam” and “Madbhari Hain Pyaar Ki Palken” (‘Fashion’, 1957), “Ta Thaiyya Karte Aana” (‘Panchayat’, 1958), “Piya Main Hoon Patang Tu Dor” (‘Raagini’, 1958), “Qaid Mein Hai Bulbul Sayyaad Muskuraaye” and “Door Kahin Tu Chal Dil Raha Hai Machaal” (‘Bedard Zamana Kya Jaane’, 1959), “Aa Bhi Jaa Bewafa Dil Ki Raahon Mein Aa“, “Tu Kya Samjhe Tu Kya Jaane” and “Ek Nazar Ek Adaa Keemat-E-Dil Aur Hai Kyaa” (Raat Ke Rahi).

Jabeen Jalil quit films in 1974 after wrapping up her career with the film ‘Vachan’. In 2008 she had produced a movie ‘Pehli Nazar Ka Pyaar’.

Jabeen got married in the year 1968. Her Husband Ashok Kak (of Kashmiri origin) hailed from Jodhpur. He was President of the Kodak Company and was the youngest CEO of that time. After moving away from films Jabeen was active in social work also. Jabeen and her family stayed in America for 10 years. The family moved back to Mumbai in 1998. She lives with her husband, son and elderly mother-in-law in her flat in South Bombay and divides her time between playing the devoted wife and the ideal mother. Her son Divvij Kak is also an actor and Jabeen became a producer with Jabeen International.
She lives in Dadar, Mumbai nowadays.

Here is the story of the film, taken from film’s booklet, which does not describe the end part of the film story, but we all know what must be the end of the story.

Towards the end of his life, Sindbad decided to settle down to Public Service and Meditation. He was a man of Justice. His only son Yusuf was adventurous and daring. He wanted to become as famous as his father, if not more. Once during an altercation, his opponent gets killed. Yusuf is arrested for murder and brought before his father. Sindbad sentences his son to death. Meanwhile Yusuf’s beloved admits that not Yusuf but she murdered the man and Yusuf was trying to shield her. She is asked to leave this country by next day morning or get a death sentence. Yusuf objects and he too is sentenced to leave with her next day.
Next day, before Yusuf leaves the country, Sindbad gives him 3 pieces of advice – never to be proud, never to forget the God and never trust women.
How he follows these lessons and becomes like his father is shown in the film.

Today’s song is the 5th song from this film. It is sung by Mohd. Rafi and Geeta Dutt along with Chorus. Enjoy…..

“Son of Sindbad”(1958) was produced by Ram Kamlani and Balwant Bhatt and directed by Nanabhai Bhatt. for NeoLight Films Bombay. This “Kalpnik” movie had Premnath, Jabeen, Bhagwan, Poornima, Nishi, Tiwari, Shammi, Sundar, Kuldeep Kaur, Jagdeesh, Samson, Cuckoo, Ridku, Kriiplani, K Tiwari Saroj, Heera, Fazlu, Saiyyad, Keshav, Abdul, Kenny etc in it.

Here is the third song from “Son of Sindbad”(1958) to appear in the blog. It is sung by Rafi and Geeta Dutt. Prem Dhawan is the lyricist. Music is composed by Chitragupta.

Only the audio of the song is available. The movie had Lata Mangeshkar, Rafi, Mukesh and Geeta Dutt as playback singers so it is difficult to guess about the picturisation of this song. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.

Song-Kabhi to haan haan haan kaho na (Son of Sindbad)(1958) Singers-Rafi, Geeta Dutt, Lyrics-Prem Dhawan, MD-Chitraupta

Geeta Dutt – Solos and Duets (04)
———————————–————–

Here is a duet again by Geeta Dutt and Rafi Sahab as song no. 04 of the series. I shall try not to make this series of Raft-Geeta duets songs with every other song by them. No worries there I have a few interesting combination duets and truets lined up for this series and I can be forgiven if it is interspersed with a few of those gems by this jodi.  The more popular ones by the likes of OPN and SDB are already in the blog, among the remaining are by music directors who are lesser known.

The songs in the genre ‘chhed chhaad’ theme and light romanticism by Rafi-Geeta Dutt are well known.  The present song is on the same theme, but a not heard before song.  Vividh Bharati Mumbai was never playing it in the 80’s that much I can say for sure.  The days of listening to songs on Vividh Bharati are a memory, which I was reminded of today.  I visited a deserted a fruit/vegetable market in our area in the middle of the afternoon, when returning from an errand.  A few sleepy vendors were there with their wares open for sale.  A few of them were huddled around on one of the carts, having lunch or just doing gup-shup.  Interesting thing with the scene was the radio playing and an old song well remembered from the radio days was playing.  It was a duet of Mukesh and the words were philosophical and romantic, I recognized the song with the stanza and lyrics were coming to mind as sure as the clockwork.  I came home and meant to look up the song, as it was not heard for a long time.  It was somewhat like “Bol Meri Taqdeer Mein Kya Hai” from ‘Hariyali Aur Raasta’ (1962), but some other song.  Now it has slipped from the mind and I am hoping to hear it again somewhere and revisiting the melody.

This line in the first stanza “le le tu sitaaron se gawaahi” is as if it is somewhere else or in some other song I have heard, especially the word ‘gawaahi’ and the way Rafi Sahab is intoning it sounds as if I have heard it somewhere before also.  ‘gawaahi’ is not a very common word in film songs.  There is a song in ‘Daamini’ which goes “Gawaah Hain Chaand Taare Gawaah Hain”.    Also, the composition and music sound very much like OPN style.  And hearing some sounds in the background music, I think it can even be a ‘tonga song’.

Only one song from the film ‘Khiladi’ (1961) is posted in the blog – “Ho Gori Kaabur Aur Bukhaara“. Music composer is Sardul Kwatra and lyricist is Prem Dhawan as per the info in the excel sheet of Rafi songs.  The excel sheet shows only the present song from this film and the song already posted in the blog, a Rafi-Shamshad duet is missing in the list.  Myswar.com is not showing the film at all.  So, I had to refer to the excel sheet for lyricist’s name.  Listening to both the songs now, it is clear that both songs are filmed on different characters in the film.  Not just by the change of female singer, but also by the sound of Rafi Sahab’s voice.  Excel sheet made up with the help of geetkosh is listing only one Rafi song in this film, and now the blog has two such duets.  So, it is possible that there are more songs in the film, which were not recorded in the geetkosh even.  Only someone with the 60’s decade HFGK can ascertain this.  If this goes on like this, given a few more accidental discoveries, final list of Rafi songs is going to be around 5000, kheench khaanch kar :).  There is a very good chance that this blog will be the place where the record is most accurate in terms of number of songs sung by Rafi Sahab, and others artists also.

Rafi sahab is a little subdued here, in the sense, that he is not making many ‘harkaten’ or ‘murkiyaan’ etc like Geeta Dutt is doing.   Or rather trying his best to sound restrained, to suit the character in the film, maybe.  But it is a very melodious and hummable song and sounds too good.

I can’t get the sound of ‘gawaahi’ out of my head since I heard this song again and again while writing the post just now.  This is how much the obscure films and their songs are made memorable by the commitment of singers like Geeta Dutt and Rafi Sahab, who always gave 110 % to each and every song.

Song – Hato Hato Jaao Ji Jaao, Jhoothi Baaten e Na Banaao (Khiladi) (1961) Singer – Geeta Dutt, Mohammed Rafi, Lyrics – Prem Dhawan, MD – Sardool Kwatra

Lyrics

hato hato
jaao ji jaao
o jhooti baatien en
e na banaao
o hato hato
jaao ji jaao
jhooti baatien
e na banaao

hua hai qusoor
kaisa hum se huzoor
hua hai qusoor
kaisa hum se huzoor
itna to zara batlaao

haay haay
hato hato
kyun ji
jaao ji jaao
aisa
o jhooti baatien en
e na banaao

tthandi tthandi aahen
saari raat bhari hain
le le tu sitaaron se gawaahi
hum bhi to tere liye
rahe hain tadapte
hum ko bhi neend na aayi
arey karo na guroor
yoon na raho door door
karo na guroor
yoon na raho door door
aur na dil ko jalaao
haay haay
hato hato
jaao ji jaao
ho jhooti baatien en
e na banaao

khil khil jaati hain
nazar mein bahaaren
milte hi tujh se nigaahen
jab jab bhi
mera dil hai dhadaktaa
sunti hoon teri hi sadaayen
aankhon ka ho noor
mere dil ka suroor
aankhon ka ho noor
mere dil ka suroor
ab to na aankh churaao
aay haay
hato hato
jaao ji jaao
o jhooti baatien en
e na banaao

Remembrance Day of N Datta on 30.12.2020
———————————————————
————————————–
Geeta Dutt – Solos and duets (01)
————————————–
This is a tribute post for Datta Naik, also known as N Datta, on his 33 death anniversary. It looks as if, N Datta formed a successful team with Sahir Ludhianvi as most of his popular songs are with Sahir in the period 1957-1959. He has composed a sizeable 349 songs in 54 films, out of which 221 are already in the blog.

A few weeks aga I inadvertently ended up with a short list of Geeta Dutt’s song links, which included different genre of songs, duets, solos and female duets. They are mostly so sweet and pleasing songs. Sometimes melancholy, but still sweet.

So here is the first song in the series, combined with the remembrance day tribute post of N. Datta. It is a Mohammed Rafi- Geeta Dutt duet from the 1960 film “Rickshawala”. The lyricist here is Jan Nisar Akhtar. The song actually is a sales pitch song. The sale of the humble fruit called “Chikoo”. It is called “Sapota” too. Both singers along with chorus are enthusiastically promoting it, even offering it for free, in exchange of a heart. The celebrity names are also freely taken for encouraging people to buy the fruit. So it is a fruit vendors song, who say that :

‘chehre ka ye husn badhaaye,
Nargis khaaye,
Nimmi khaaye,
khaaye madhubala”

‘ Chikoo’ is supposed to be rich in iron, so may be, it is useful in increasing ‘chehre ka husn’. I had early experience of buying ‘chikoo’ in, believe it or not Mumbai local trains. The price was unbelievable, 5-6 chickoos for Rs. 2/- only. Those were the cheap 80’s.

Only two songs from this film are posted so far :

Song Date of posting
Neeli saadi sunahra jumper 14 February 2012
Jawaani mein to ik dil ki 18 December 2018

Title of the film is ‘Rickshawala’, but there is no riksha or tonga song here. There are these marathi words repeated in the song ‘aga saku, ghe chikoo’. It means ‘O saku, buy chikoo’. ‘Saku’ may be a slang or a nickname of sort, where girls are called ‘saku’ in a teasing way.

I could find only the audio link for the song, but it is filmed on Johnny Walker and Anita Guha. Another film with only Mohammed Rafi male singer, with Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle and Geeta Dutt.

Today (13 july 2020) is the birth anniversary of Prem Dhawan (13 june 1923-7 May 2001) Prem Dhawan is mainly known as a lyricist, but he was also a music director as well as an actor and choreographer.

Prem Dhawan made his debut as a lyricist in 1946 with the movie “Dharti Ke Lal”(1946). His last movie as a lyricist was was “Appu Raja”(1989).

On the occsaion of his berth anniversary, here is a song from “Gangu”(1962). This song is sung by Rafi and Geeta Dutt. Prem Dhawan is the lyricist. Music is composed by Kalyanji Anandji.

THe song is picturised on Chandrashekhar and Naaz who are seen driving in a car. Driving as well as a singing simultaneously, it is not advisable, but HFM safety standards have always been lax. 🙂

Mohammed Rafi – Duets – ‘अ’  से  ‘ह’ तक  (From ‘अ’ to ‘ह’) – 28
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

‘य’ – ये भीगी भीगी रात गगन पर तारों की बारात ॰ ॰ ॰

– – – –

हम बेखुदी में तुमको पुकारे चले गए ॰ ॰ ॰

Seems to be like another life time, that we have been waiting, and calling out for you, in the wilderness of nowhere. Alas, but it is not to be. . .

– – – –

Really spoilt for choices with the letter ‘य’. And I settle for this delightful twosome of a song – Geeta Dutt with Rafi Sb. The film is an obscure ‘Doctor Z’ from 1959. Produced and directed by Jaal, the films comes from the banner of Baliwala Films, Bombay. The star cast of this film is listed as Shakeela, Mahipal, Heeralal, Helen, Vinod Diwani, Krishna Kumari, Sundar, Mirza Musharraf, Dalpat, Tuntun, Nasreen, Shetty, Bhudo Advani, Homi, Rusi, Bismillah, Baburao Pehalwan, Radheshyam, Rafiq, Hanuman, Bala Ram, Dhondu, MK Hasan, Karandiker, and Sheetal Kumar.

The film has total of eight songs listed, out which, two songs, as per the Geet Kosh, are probably not released on gramophone records. The songs have been written by Akhtar Romani, and the music is by Manohar. This Manohar is the blind music director Manohar Lal Sonik, who was the senior partner in the team of music director duo – Sonik-Omi.

One song of this film is already present on our blog. It was posted on 9th Nov, 2011. And today, after almost full seven years, the second song of this film finds its place here.

The singing voices are of Rafi Sb, accompanied by Geeta Dutt. A delightful duet presented as a conversation between lovers, it is quite a treat to hear to this song. Listen and enjoy.

Song – Ye Bheegi Bheegi Raat Gagan Par Taaron Ki Baraat  (Doctor Z) (1959) Singer – Geeta Dutt, Mohammed Rafi, Lyrics – Akhtar Romani, MD – Manohar
Geeta Dutt + Mohammed Rafi

Lyrics

ye bheegi bheegi raat
gagan par taaron ki baraat
chali kis paar hai
zara dil par rakh kar haath
bata de aise mein ye baat
ke kitna pyaar hai
ye bheegi bheegi raat
gagan par taaron ki baraat
chali kis paar hai
zara dil par rakh kar haath
bata de aise mein ye baat
ke kitna pyaar hai

o ho ho ho ho ho
o ho ho ho ho ho
o ho ho ho ho ho
ho ho..oo ho ho..oo

bhatke huye musaafir
manzil ko pa hi gaye
ulfat ke do safeene
saahil pea aa hi gaye
bhatke huye musaafir
manzil ko pa hi gaye
ulfat ke do safeene
saahil pea aa hi gaye
main kaise kahoon ye baat
ke aata sapnon mein har raat
koi dildaar hai
zara dil par rakh kar haath
bata de aise mein ye baat
ke kitna pyaar hai

jitna haseen hai mausam
utna hi tu bhi haseen
jee chaahe aaj ruk jaaye
saara zamaana yahin
jitna haseen hai mausam
utna hi tu bhi haseen
jee chaahe aaj ruk jaaye
saara zamaana yahin
de haat mein mere haath
ke chhoote ab na kabhi ye saath
yahi iqraar hai
ye kitni badi hai baat
ke tujhko pyaar hai mere saath
ke du dildaar hai
zara dil par rakh kar haath
bata de aise mein ye baat
ke kitna pyaar hai

ye bheegi bheegi raat
gagan par taaron ki baraat
chali kis paar hai
aa haa
zara dil par rakh kar haath
bata de aise mein ye baat
ke kitna pyaar hai

o ho ho ho ho ho
o ho ho ho ho ho
o ho ho ho ho ho

Fabulous Foot Tappers – 9
– – – – – – – – – – – – – –

O boy, after almost one year – well, nine months to be precise, the next episode of this series. I had posted the eighth song – “Dekhne Waale Dekh Karishma Yaaron Ka” on 7th November, last year. In the interim, many other things happened – but that is an old story by now. One thing happened was that inadvertently, a couple of songs that I was saving for this series, got posted otherwise, and so I had to wait for locating a few more to complete the series, i.e. reach a number of 10 at least. 😉

This song is from the 1959 film ‘Mr John’. This was a period when Johnny Walker was still commanding lead roles. In this film he is paired opposite to Shyama. Seems to be a romantic comedy. The rest of the star cast consists of Helen, Lalita Pawar, Iftikhar, Krishna Kumari, Mumtaz, Tuntun, Mohan Choti, Kamal Mohan, Sampson, Uma Dutt, Ravi, Champaklala, Rasheed, Daraaz, Wahid, Genius, Tiwari, Ram Lal, Anil, Singh, Jaani, Gaus, Tarun Kumar, Ajay Kumar, Ajeet, B Fazle Kareem, Mukhtar, and Pandit Baijnath. It seems as if the last dozen or so names are just henchmen in a gang. 🙂

The film is produced by Nigam for the banner of NK Productions, Bombay, and is directed by Inder. When I read the director’s name in the film listing, my mind is now wondering whether he could be IS Johar. The complete name, as you are aware, is Inder Sen Johar. Maybe a question to be investigated; being a comedy, there is a good possibility.

The film has seven songs, three of which are already posted here on our blog. This is the fourth one to come on board. All the songs are written by Jaan Nisaar Akhtar and the music is composed by N Dutta. This song is duet in the voice of Geeta Dutt and Mohammed Rafi.

I request other readers to please add information about this film and the picturization of this song. It appears to be a club dance song, which has a lead pair performing, supported by other dancers. It is possible that the song is performed by Helen and Johnny Walker, but that is just a guess. As I said, request for more information from other knowledgeable readers.

So, introducing another rollicking foot tapping number. Listen and enjoy.

The songs that you have rendered, the legacy that you have left behind, it strums the strings of the heart and brings unfettered pleasure to the listening mind. The treasure is limitless, and yet limited. Limitless – that we can hear them over and over again, and the listening pleasure multiplies. And yes, limited too – for we know now, what we have is what it is; there will be additions to this treasure no more.

Continuing with this delightful series of duets of Rafi Sb. We skip the ‘ङ’ letter in the alphbet – no meaningful words start with this letter and so no songs starting with it either.

We now come on to the next letter ‘‘. And to this delightful song from almost seven decades back. The film is from 1950 – a time when the companion singer was still known as Geeta Roy. The film is ‘Hamaara Ghar’. A wonderful chhaayageet song which comes from the pen of Anjum. The lyricists name appears as such; most likely this is the same person as Anjum Jaipuri. The melody comes from the mind of Chitragupt, a creator of many an unforgettable track.

The film is produced under the banner of Hindustan Chitra and is directed by Nanabhai Bhatt. The cast of actors is listed as Durga Khote, Umakant, Veera, Agha, Meena Kumari, Geeta Bose, David, Jankidas, Ramesh Gupta, Yashodhara Katju. I cannot with certainty make any guess about the lead pair of the film. I request knowledgeable readers and friends to please add more information about this film and this song.

The film has seven songs, two of which are already showcased here on our blog. Here is the third song from this film. Think 1950, and think melody – the queen. A delightful duet. Enjoy.

Song – Chaandni Chhitki Hui Hai Muskuraati Raat Hai (Hamaara Ghar) (1950) Singer – Geeta Roy, Mohammed Rafi, Lyrics – Anjum, MD – Chitragupt
Mohammed Rafi + Geeta Dutt

Lyrics

chaandni chhitki hui hai
muskuraati raat hai
chaandni chhitki hui hai
muskuraati raat hai
ek chanda aasmaan par
ik hamaare saath hai
ek chanda aasmaan par
ik hamaare saath hai

tumko kya dekhen sitaaro
tum puraane ho chuke
tumko kya dekhen sitaaro
tum puraane ho chuke
hum to un ko dekhte hain
jo hamaare ho chuke
jo hamaare ho chuke
dil se dil ki baat hai
ek chanda aasmaan par
ik hamaare saath hai

jhoomte hain aaj armaan
hans rahi hai zindagi
jhoomte hain aaj armaan
hans rahi hai zindagi
dil to pehle hi miley the
mil gai taqdeer bhi
mil gai taqdeer bhi
aji haath mein ab haath hai
ek chanda aasmaan par
ik hamaare saath hai

ik naya jeevan hai paaya
ik nai duniya basi
ik naya jeevan hai paaya
ik nai duniya basi
mil gayi hai do dilon ko
saari duniya ki khushi
saari duniya ki khushi
kya niraali baat hai
ek chanda aasmaan par
ik hamaare saath hai

chaandni chhitki hui hai
muskuraati raat hai
ek chanda aasmaan par
ik hamaare saath hai
