#the Decade of Fifties –1951 – 1960 #
——————————————————————
In this post I present a wonderful song from the movie ‘Ishwar Bhakti-1951’.
It was a devotional or ‘bhakti pradhaan’ movie as mentioned in HFGK Vol-III (1951-1960).
‘Ishwar Bhakti-1951’ (alias ‘Shani Mahatmya’) was directed by Gunjal for ‘Shri Shyam Chitra, Bombay’. It was produced by R.B. Haldiya.
HFGK Vol-III mentions that this movie was passed by the Censor Board on 14.02.1951.
The cast of this movie included Nirupa Roy, Trilok Kapoor, Shalini, Urvashi, Nand Kishore, Sudha Bai, Parvati, Rajni, Kamlakant, Chaman Puri, Saroop and others.
‘Ishwar Bhakti-1951’ has as many as eleven songs all written by Pt Narendra Sharma. Music for this movie was composed by Sonik-Giridhar.
Mohd Rafi, Asha Bhonsle, Sulochana Kadam, Shamshad Begam and Premlata were the playback singers who had given their voices to the songs in this movie.
Two songs from this movie have been posted on the blog as given below.
SNo. | Song Title | Singer/s | Posted On |
---|---|---|---|
01 | Jeewan dhoop chhaaon ka khel | Mohd Rafi | 02.01.2017 |
02 | Sooraj ghoome chandr ghoome ghoome gagan saaraa | Mohd Rafi | 18.11.2021 |
Incidentally both the songs from this movie posted on the blog are sung by Rafi Saab.
Today we add the third song from this movie which is sung by Asha Bhonsle, Sulochana Kadam and chorus.
This song is ‘where the sahelis are teasing the lady in anticipation of somebody coming to her home (may be her beloved)’. 🙂
Let us enjoy this melodious song …
Editor’s note:- This song is the 500th song in the blog from movies released in the year 1951.
