Hoye/font>

Ude nainon se gulaal
Huye gaal laal laal
Teri behki behki chaal
Bal khaane lagi
Mil ke aise baar baar
Baanke naina kare waar
Laage jiya pe kataar
Jaan jaane lagi

Oye
Ude nainon se gulaa aa aal
Aa ha aha

Saanwli soortiyaa se ghunghtaa hataa
Dekhen ham bhi to
Bhola mukhda tera aa aa
Hoye
Hoye
Hoye
Saanwli soortiyaa se ghunghtaa hataa
Dekhen ham bhi to
Bhola mukhda tera ha aa
Chal
Chal hat jaa re
Baanke zulmi piya
Ankhiyon se jiya pe na jaadu wo chalaa

Are aisi ho soortiyaa
Mohini moortiyaa
Phir kaise manwaa machal jaaye na
Are dil na uchhaal
Zaraa khud ko sambhaal
Laagi jiyaa ki kamaal dikhlaane lagi

Mil ke aise baar baar
Baanke naina kare waar
Laage jiya pe kataar
Jaan jaane lagi

Oye ude nainon se gulaa aa aal
haa haa a haa

Aise chale goriyaa gumaan bhari
Chamke badarwaa mein jaise bijuri
Uyi
haay daiyya
Bole kaisi kaisi batiyaan
Bairi teri dil ki neeyat hai buri

Hoye aise jo nikhar ke
Niklo sanwar ke
Phir kaise neeyat badal jaaye na
Jabse sainyya beimaan
banaa Dil ka mehmaan
Meri nanhi si ye jaan lehraane lagi

O Mil ke aise baar baar
Baanke naina kare waar
Laage jiya pe kataar
Jaan jaane lagi

Hoye
Ude nainon se gulaal
Huye gaal laal laal
Teri behki behki chaal
Bal khaane lagi
Mil ke aise baar baar
Baanke naina kare waar
Laage jiya pe kataar
Jaan jaane lagi

Oye ude nainon se gulaa aa aa aa aal

“Sangeet Samrat Tansen” (1962) was a labour of love for S N Tripathi. This movie was a Sur Sagar Chitra Production. It was directed by S N Tripathi. A movie was made on the fife of Tansen two decades ago and there the lead role was played by K L Saigal and the musical score of that movie was unparalleled. So S N Tripathi had a lot to live up to. It must be siad that the music of “Sangeet samrat Tansen” (1962) stood up to the scrutity very well. It is other matter that the movie, being a B grade movie, may not have created box office records. I am not awrae how this movie fared at the box office and I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this matter.

Who can forget “sun mere saajnaa” , an immortal song written by him in film AANSOO (1949) among many of his songs. The very fact that he had worked with almost all prominent music directors of his time is a testimony not only of his calibre as a lyricist but also of his pliable nature.

I have been somewhat preoccupied for last three four days. I have been regularly browsing the new additions to the blog, but have not been able to spend time to add or respond to comments. So I see this message from AK ji, renewing his farmaish for this song. And then read Atul ji’s response, saying that this song is not available online so far. That got me into a scramble; since I have the audio of this song in my collection. And this song is simply so endearing that somehow I had to take time out to create the YouTube post and publish it right away. 😀
